All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him:“ What have you done?”

Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are considered as a speck of dust on the scales; he lifts up the islands like fine dust.Lebanon’s cedars are not enough for fuel, or its animals enough for a burnt offering.All the nations are as nothing before him; they are considered by him as empty nothingness.

I know that you can do anything and no plan of yours can be thwarted.

The LORD does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the depths.

Also, from today on I am he alone, and none can rescue from my power. I act, and who can reverse it?”

In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will,

to do whatever your hand and your will had predestined to take place.

Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments and untraceable his ways!For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?And who has ever given to God, that he should be repaid?For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.

You will say to me, therefore,“ Why then does he still find fault? For who resists his will?”On the contrary, who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Will what is formed say to the one who formed it,“ Why did you make me like this?”

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.

but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even be found fighting against God.” They were persuaded by him.

For who has known the Lord’s mind, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

“ Woe to the one who argues with his Maker— one clay pot among many. Does clay say to the one forming it,‘ What are you making?’ Or does your work say,‘ He has no hands’?Woe to the one who says to his father,‘ What are you fathering?’ or to his mother,‘ What are you giving birth to?’”This is what the LORD, the Holy One of Israel and its Maker, says:“ Ask me what is to happen to my sons, and instruct me about the work of my hands.

If he put his mind to it and withdrew the spirit and breath he gave,every living thing would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.

I long for you in the night; yes, my spirit within me diligently seeks you, for when your judgments are in the land, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Let the whole earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.For he spoke, and it came into being; he commanded, and it came into existence.The LORD frustrates the counsel of the nations; he thwarts the plans of the peoples.The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart from generation to generation.

If he snatches something, who can stop him? Who can ask him,“ What are you doing?”God does not hold back his anger; Rahab’s assistants cringe in fear beneath him!

The LORD of Armies has sworn: As I have purposed, so it will be; as I have planned it, so it will happen.I will break Assyria in my land; I will tread him down on my mountain. Then his yoke will be taken from them, and his burden will be removed from their shoulders.This is the plan prepared for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out against all the nations.The LORD of Armies himself has planned it; therefore, who can stand in its way? It is his hand that is outstretched, so who can turn it back?

I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: my plan will take place, and I will do all my will.I call a bird of prey from the east, a man for my purpose from a far country. Yes, I have spoken; so I will also bring it about. I have planned it; I will also do it.

Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

So Samuel told him everything and did not hide anything from him. Eli responded,“ He is the LORD. Let him do what he thinks is good.”

But he is unchangeable; who can oppose him? He does what he desires.

Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who argues with God give an answer.

God is wise and all-powerful. Who has opposed him and come out unharmed?

No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel will prevail against the LORD.

But when God is silent, who can declare him guilty? When he hides his face, who can see him? Yet he watches over both individuals and nations,

If, then, God gave them the same gift that he also gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I possibly hinder God?”

God is enthroned above the circle of the earth; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like thin cloth and spreads them out like a tent to live in.He reduces princes to nothing and makes judges of the earth like a wasteland.They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem hardly takes root in the ground when he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind carries them away like stubble.

Do you have an arm like God’s? Can you thunder with a voice like his?Adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and clothe yourself with honor and glory.Pour out your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.Look on every proud person and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand.

He gazes on all the inhabitants of the earth from his dwelling place.

God is not partial to princes and does not favor the rich over the poor, for they are all the work of his hands.They die suddenly in the middle of the night; people shudder, then pass away. Even the mighty are removed without effort.For his eyes watch over a man’s ways, and he observes all his steps.There is no darkness, no deep darkness, where evildoers can hide.God does not need to examine a person further, that one should approach him in court.He shatters the mighty without an investigation and sets others in their place.

Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who inhabit the world,

But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter, since God is greater than man.Why do you take him to court for not answering anything a person asks?

“ Who are you, Lord?” Saul said.“ I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting,” he replied.

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow— in heaven and on earth and under the earth—and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
