“ This is the interpretation, O king, and it is the decree of the Most High, which has come on my lord the king:

For when they are saying,“ Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone.In the same hour, the fingers of a man’s hand came out and wrote near the lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace. The king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
