Then Daniel( whose name is also Belteshazzar) was upset for a brief time; his thoughts were alarming him. The king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream and its interpretation alarm you.” But Belteshazzar replied,“ Sir, if only the dream were for your enemies and its interpretation applied to your adversaries!

于是那称为伯提沙撒的但以理惊愕片时，他想到的事使他惊惶。王对他说：“伯提沙撒啊！别让这梦和梦的意思使你惊惶。”伯提沙撒回答说：“我主啊！愿这梦归给憎恨你的人，梦的意思归给你的敌人。

但以理亦名伯底沙撒、一聞我言、不覺驚駭竟晷、中心鬱陶、余曰、伯底沙撒勿為余夢及兆、鬱伊不止、對曰、願此夢之兆、應於敵人、勿為王躬之咎、

稱伯提沙撒之但以理、一聞我言、驚訝片時、中心惶恐、我尼布甲尼撒王曰、伯提沙撒、勿為夢與夢兆惶恐、伯提沙撒曰、我主、願其夢應於王之仇、願其兆驗驗或作臨於王之敵、

Then Daniel( also called Belteshazzar) was greatly perplexed for a time, and his thoughts terrified him. So the king said,“ Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its meaning alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, if only the dream applied to your enemies and its meaning to your adversaries!

Daniel, who was also called Belteshazzar, was very bewildered for a while. His thoughts terrified him. So the king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its meaning make you afraid.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My master, I wish the dream were about your enemies! I wish its meaning had to do with them!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was dismayed for a while, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king answered and said,“ Belteshazzar, let not the dream or the interpretation alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered and said,“ My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you and its interpretation for your enemies!

“ Upon hearing this, Daniel( also known as Belteshazzar) was overcome for a time, frightened by the meaning of the dream. Then the king said to him,‘ Belteshazzar, don’t be alarmed by the dream and what it means.’“ Belteshazzar replied,‘ I wish the events foreshadowed in this dream would happen to your enemies, my lord, and not to you!

Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was stunned for a moment, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream apply to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!

“ Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was appalled for a while as his thoughts alarmed him. The king responded and said,‘ Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.’ Belteshazzar replied,‘ My lord, if only the dream applied to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for a time, and his thoughts troubled him. So the king spoke, and said,“ Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered and said,“ My Lord, may the dream concern those who hate you, and its interpretation concern your enemies!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken dumb for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine adversaries.

Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was stunned for a moment, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream apply to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!

Then Daniel, whose name[ was] Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream[ be] to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken mute for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream, or the interpretation, trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries.

I, Daniel, was exhausted and sick for days. Then I got up and again carried out the king’s business. But I was astonished at the vision, and there was no one to explain it.

“ This is the conclusion of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts troubled me greatly, and the color drained from my face. But I kept the matter to myself.”

Then one who appeared to be a human being was touching my lips. I opened my mouth and started to speak, saying to the one who was standing before me,“ Sir, due to the vision, anxiety has gripped me and I have no strength.How, sir, am I able to speak with you? My strength is gone, and I am breathless.”

this is the interpretation, O king! It is the decision of the Most High that this has happened to my lord the king.

Eli said,“ What message did he speak to you? Don’t conceal it from me. God will judge you severely if you conceal from me anything that he said to you!”

Then the Cushite arrived and said,“ May my lord the king now receive the good news! The LORD has vindicated you today and delivered you from the hand of all who have rebelled against you!”The king asked the Cushite,“ How is the young man Absalom?” The Cushite replied,“ May the enemies of my lord the king and all who have plotted against you be like that young man!”

( 4: 1) I, Nebuchadnezzar, was relaxing in my home, living luxuriously in my palace.I saw a dream that frightened me badly. The things I imagined while lying on my bed– these visions of my mind– were terrifying me.

I said,“ Oh, the feeling in the pit of my stomach! I writhe in anguish. Oh, the pain in my heart! My heart pounds within me. I cannot keep silent. For I hear the sound of the trumpet; the sound of the battle cry pierces my soul!

As Obadiah was traveling along, Elijah met him. When he recognized him, he fell facedown to the ground and said,“ Is it really you, my master, Elijah?”

The king then asked Daniel( whose name was also Belteshazzar),“ Are you able to make known to me the dream that I saw, as well as its interpretation?”

“ As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed, and the visions of my mind were alarming me.

Afterward David got up and went out of the cave. He called out after Saul,“ My lord, O king!” When Saul looked behind him, David kneeled down and bowed with his face to the ground.

Later Daniel entered( whose name is Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom there is a spirit of the holy gods). I recounted the dream for him as well,saying,“ Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, in whom I know there to be a spirit of the holy gods and whom no mystery baffles, consider my dream that I saw and set forth its interpretation!

But the overseer of the court officials renamed them. He gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar, Hananiah he named Shadrach, Mishael he named Meshach, and Azariah he named Abednego.

But now, if you will forgive their sin…, but if not, wipe me out from your book that you have written.”

Work to see that the city where I sent you as exiles enjoys peace and prosperity. Pray to the LORD for it. For as it prospers you will prosper.’

He commanded them,“ This is what you must say to my lord Esau:‘ This is what your servant Jacob says: I have been staying with Laban until now.I have oxen, donkeys, sheep, and male and female servants. I have sent this message to inform my lord, so that I may find favor in your sight.’”

Thus there was found in this man Daniel, whom the king renamed Belteshazzar, an extraordinary spirit, knowledge, and skill to interpret dreams, solve riddles, and decipher knotty problems. Now summon Daniel, and he will disclose the interpretation.”

David said to Abner,“ Aren’t you a man? After all, who is like you in Israel? Why then haven’t you protected your lord the king? One of the soldiers came to kill your lord the king.

When the mountains see you, they shake. The torrential downpour sweeps through. The great deep shouts out; it lifts its hands high.

Rachel said to her father,“ Don’t be angry, my lord. I cannot stand up in your presence because I am having my period.” So he searched thoroughly, but did not find the idols.

then you must say,‘ They belong to your servant Jacob. They have been sent as a gift to my lord Esau. In fact Jacob himself is behind us.’”

But Hannah replied,“ That’s not the way it is, my lord! I am under a great deal of stress. I have drunk neither wine nor beer. Rather, I have poured out my soul to the LORD.
