但以理亦名伯底沙撒、一聞我言、不覺驚駭竟晷、中心鬱陶、余曰、伯底沙撒勿為余夢及兆、鬱伊不止、對曰、願此夢之兆、應於敵人、勿為王躬之咎、

稱伯提沙撒之但以理、一聞我言、驚訝片時、中心惶恐、我尼布甲尼撒王曰、伯提沙撒、勿為夢與夢兆惶恐、伯提沙撒曰、我主、願其夢應於王之仇、願其兆驗驗或作臨於王之敵、

Then Daniel( also called Belteshazzar) was greatly perplexed for a time, and his thoughts terrified him. So the king said,“ Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its meaning alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, if only the dream applied to your enemies and its meaning to your adversaries!

Daniel, who was also called Belteshazzar, was very bewildered for a while. His thoughts terrified him. So the king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its meaning make you afraid.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My master, I wish the dream were about your enemies! I wish its meaning had to do with them!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was dismayed for a while, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king answered and said,“ Belteshazzar, let not the dream or the interpretation alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered and said,“ My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you and its interpretation for your enemies!

“ Upon hearing this, Daniel( also known as Belteshazzar) was overcome for a time, frightened by the meaning of the dream. Then the king said to him,‘ Belteshazzar, don’t be alarmed by the dream and what it means.’“ Belteshazzar replied,‘ I wish the events foreshadowed in this dream would happen to your enemies, my lord, and not to you!

Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was stunned for a moment, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream apply to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!

“ Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was appalled for a while as his thoughts alarmed him. The king responded and said,‘ Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.’ Belteshazzar replied,‘ My lord, if only the dream applied to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for a time, and his thoughts troubled him. So the king spoke, and said,“ Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered and said,“ My Lord, may the dream concern those who hate you, and its interpretation concern your enemies!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken dumb for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine adversaries.

Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was stunned for a moment, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream apply to those who hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!

Then Daniel, whose name[ was] Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream[ be] to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

Then Daniel( whose name is also Belteshazzar) was upset for a brief time; his thoughts were alarming him. The king said,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream and its interpretation alarm you.” But Belteshazzar replied,“ Sir, if only the dream were for your enemies and its interpretation applied to your adversaries!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken mute for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream, or the interpretation, trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries.

I, Daniel, was worn out. I lay exhausted for several days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business. I was appalled by the vision; it was beyond understanding. (niv)

“ This is the end of the matter. I, Daniel, was deeply troubled by my thoughts, and my face turned pale, but I kept the matter to myself.” (niv)

Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me,“ I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I feel very weak.How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe.” (niv)

“ This is the interpretation, Your Majesty, and this is the decree the Most High has issued against my lord the king: (niv)

“ What was it he said to you?” Eli asked.“ Do not hide it from me. May God deal with you, be it ever so severely, if you hide from me anything he told you.” (niv)

Then the Cushite arrived and said,“ My lord the king, hear the good news! The Lord has vindicated you today by delivering you from the hand of all who rose up against you.”The king asked the Cushite,“ Is the young man Absalom safe?” The Cushite replied,“ May the enemies of my lord the king and all who rise up to harm you be like that young man.” (niv)

I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at home in my palace, contented and prosperous.I had a dream that made me afraid. As I was lying in bed, the images and visions that passed through my mind terrified me. (niv)

Oh, my anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain. Oh, the agony of my heart! My heart pounds within me, I cannot keep silent. For I have heard the sound of the trumpet; I have heard the battle cry. (niv)

As Obadiah was walking along, Elijah met him. Obadiah recognized him, bowed down to the ground, and said,“ Is it really you, my lord Elijah?” (niv)

The king asked Daniel( also called Belteshazzar),“ Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?” (niv)

“ I, Daniel, was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through my mind disturbed me. (niv)

Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul,“ My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. (niv)

Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream.( He is called Belteshazzar, after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)I said,“ Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no mystery is too difficult for you. Here is my dream; interpret it for me. (niv)

The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego. (niv)

But now, please forgive their sin— but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.” (niv)

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (niv)

He instructed them:“ This is what you are to say to my lord Esau:‘ Your servant Jacob says, I have been staying with Laban and have remained there till now.I have cattle and donkeys, sheep and goats, male and female servants. Now I am sending this message to my lord, that I may find favor in your eyes.’” (niv)

He did this because Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.” (niv)

David said,“ You’re a man, aren’t you? And who is like you in Israel? Why didn’t you guard your lord the king? Someone came to destroy your lord the king. (niv)

the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high. (niv)

Rachel said to her father,“ Don’t be angry, my lord, that I cannot stand up in your presence; I’m having my period.” So he searched but could not find the household gods. (niv)

then you are to say,‘ They belong to your servant Jacob. They are a gift sent to my lord Esau, and he is coming behind us.’” (niv)

“ Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied,“ I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. (niv)
