He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

He called in a loud voice:‘ Cut down the tree and trim off its branches; strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee from under it and the birds from its branches.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:

And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and[ let] his portion[ be] with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

The leaves thereof[ were] fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it[ was] meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung[ it]:And if it bear fruit,[ well]: and if not,[ then] after that thou shalt cut it down.

And cried with a loud voice, as[ when] a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up[ even] to the skies.

Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this[ is] the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
