These are the visions I saw while lying in bed: I looked, and there before me stood a tree in the middle of the land. Its height was enormous.

The visions of my head as I lay in bed were these: I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.

“‘ While I was lying in my bed, this is what I dreamed. I saw a large tree in the middle of the earth.

看哪，亞述是黎巴嫩的香柏樹，枝條榮美，蔭密如林，極其高大，樹頂高聳入雲。眾水使它生長，深水使它長高；所栽之地有江河環繞，汊出的水道流至田野的樹木。所以它高大超過田野的樹木；生長時因水源豐沛，枝子繁多，枝條增長。空中所有的飛鳥在枝子上搭窩，野地所有的走獸在枝條下生子，所有的大國也在它的蔭下居住。它樹大枝長，極為榮美，因它的根在眾水之旁。神園中的香柏樹不能遮蔽它；松樹不及它的枝子，楓樹不及它的枝條，神園中的樹都沒有它榮美。我使它枝條繁多，極為榮美；在神的園中，伊甸所有的樹都嫉妒它。」所以主耶和華如此說：「因它高大，樹頂高聳入雲，心高氣傲，我要把它交給列國中強人的手裏，他們必定按它的罪惡懲治它。我已經驅逐它。外國人，就是列國中兇暴的人，已把它砍斷拋棄。它的枝條掉落山間和一切谷中，枝子折斷，落在地上一切河道。地上的萬民都離開它的遮蔭，拋棄了它。空中的飛鳥都棲身在掉落的樹幹上，野地的走獸也都躺臥在它的枝條中。為了要使水邊的樹木枝幹不再長高，樹頂也不再高聳入雲；那些得水滋潤的，不再屹立於其中。因為它們和下到地府的人一起，都被交與死亡，到了地底下。」主耶和華如此說：「它墜落陰間的那日，我為它遮蓋深淵，攔住江河，使眾水停流，以表哀悼。我使黎巴嫩為它悲哀，田野的樹木都因它枯萎。我把它扔到陰間，與下到地府的人一同墜落。那時，列國聽見墜落的響聲就震驚；伊甸一切的樹木，就是黎巴嫩中得水滋潤、最佳最美的樹，在地底下都得了安慰。這些樹也要與它同下陰間，到被刀所殺的人那裏；它們曾作它的膀臂，在列國中曾居住在它的蔭下。在這樣的榮耀與威勢中，伊甸樹木有誰能與你相比呢？然而你要與伊甸的樹木一同到地底下；在未受割禮的人中，與被刀所殺的人一同躺下。「法老和他的軍隊正是如此。這是主耶和華說的。」

你栽培了他們，他們也扎了根，長大，而且結果。他們的口與你相近，心卻與你遠離。

我見過惡人大有勢力，高聳如本地青翠的樹木。有人從那裏經過，看哪，他已不存在，我尋找他，卻尋不着了。

你所見的樹漸長，而且茁壯，高得頂天，全地都能看見，葉子華美，果子甚多，可作所有動物的食物；野地的走獸住在其下，天空的飛鳥宿在枝上。「王啊，這成長又茁壯的樹就是你。你的威勢成長及於天，你的權柄達到地極。王既看見一位神聖的守望者從天而降，說：『將這樹砍倒毀壞，樹的殘幹卻要留在地裏，在田野的青草中用鐵圈和銅圈套住。任他讓天上的露水滴濕，與野地的走獸一同吃草，直到經過七個時期。』「王啊，夢的解釋就是這樣：臨到我主我王的事是出於至高者的命令。你必被趕出離開世人，與野地的走獸同住，吃草如牛，讓天上的露水滴濕，且要經過七個時期，直等到你知道至高者在人的國中掌權，要將國賜給誰就賜給誰。這使樹的殘幹存留的命令，是要等你知道天在掌權，你的國必定歸你。
