and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.

義人有許多患難，但耶和華解救他脫離這一切，

願以色列說：「要不是耶和華在我們這邊，要不是耶和華在我們這邊，那麼，人們起來攻擊我們時，他們的怒氣向我們發作時，他們早就活活吞掉了我們——眾水漫過我們，急流淹沒我們，狂傲的眾水早就淹沒我們了！」

王下令，人就把但以理帶來，扔進獅子坑中。王開口對但以理說：「願你的神，你一直事奉的那一位，親自拯救你！」人又把一塊石頭搬來，放在坑口上，王就用自己的印和大臣們的印封上石頭；這樣，有關但以理的事就不能更改了。

你使我們進入牢籠，把重擔壓在我們的腰背上。你使人騎在我們的頭上；我們曾進入烈火、進入眾水，但你又把我們領到那福份滿溢之地。

各位蒙愛的人哪，當火一樣的考驗臨到你們中間，給你們試煉的時候，你們不要感到奇怪，好像發生了怪異的事。相反，你們既然在基督的苦難上有份，就應該照此歡喜，好使你們在他榮耀顯現的時候，也可以歡喜、快樂。

弟兄們，我們不願意你們不明白我們在亞細亞省所遭受的患難：我們所受的壓力遠遠過於我們的承受能力，甚至連活下去的希望也沒有了。然而我們在自己裡面已經承受了死亡的判決，好讓我們不依靠自己，而依靠那使死人復活的神。他救我們脫離了如此致命的危險，並且將來要救我們——我們盼望他將來還要救我們。

原來我們這暫時、輕微的患難，正為我們帶來極重無比、永恆的榮耀。
