Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual

尼布甲尼撒王勃然大怒，下令將沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌帶來。於是他們被帶到王面前。

我也要與你們作對，向你們發烈怒，把比先前嚴厲七倍的懲罰加在你們身上。

「如果你們仍然與我作對，不肯聽從我，我要把比先前嚴重七倍的災難降在你們身上。

我也要與你們作對，用比先前嚴重七倍的災難擊打你們。

「如果你們受過這些懲罰，仍然不知悔改，我要把比先前嚴厲七倍的懲罰加在你們身上。

敵人說，『追啊，追上他們，瓜分他們的財物，盡情地擄掠他們，拔出刀來把他們斬盡殺絕。』你叫風一吹，海水就淹沒他們，他們好像鉛塊一樣沉沒在怒海中。

我必把這杯給苦待你的人，他們曾對你說，『趴下，我們好從你身上走過。』你曾把你的背當作地面，當作街道任人踐踏。」

眾人聽了這番話，怒火中燒，咬牙切齒。

臉色驟變，驚恐萬分，兩腿發軟，雙膝顫抖。

石頭沉，沙土重，不如愚人惹的麻煩重。暴怒固然殘酷，憤恨好比狂瀾，然而嫉妒更是無人能敵。

嘲諷者狂妄自大，行事驕橫無比。

王下令把那些惡意控告但以理的人及其兒女妻子都帶來，扔進獅子坑。他們還沒到坑底，獅子便撲上去，咬碎了他們的骨頭。

你向人類發怒為你帶來榮耀，你準備發盡你的烈怒。

卻不悅納該隱和他的祭物。該隱便非常惱火，面帶怒容。耶和華問該隱：「你為什麼惱火？為什麼面帶怒容？

他們聽了，怒氣衝天，打算殺掉使徒。

然後在壇上擺好柴，把公牛切成塊放在柴上，對眾人說：「你們去打四桶水倒在祭物和柴上。」他們照做了。以利亞吩咐他們再倒一次，他們又倒了一次。以利亞又吩咐他們倒第三次，他們就倒了第三次。水流到壇的四周，溝裡也灌滿了。

「『你起你坐，你出你進，你向我發怒，我都知道。因為你向我發怒，你狂傲的話達到了我耳中，我要用鉤子鉤住你的鼻子，把嚼環放在你嘴裡，使你原路返回。』

雅各發覺拉班對他的態度不如從前了。

「總督大人，我們記得那個騙子生前曾說，『三天之後，我必復活』，所以請你命人看守墳墓三天，以防祂的門徒偷走祂的屍體，然後對百姓說祂已經從死裡復活。這樣的迷惑會比以前的更厲害！」彼拉多說：「你們帶上衛兵，去那裡嚴加看守。」他們就帶著衛兵去了，在墓口的石頭上貼上封條，派人看守墓穴。

王大怒，離席去了御花園。哈曼見王定意要懲罰他，便留下來求以斯帖王后饒命。

「朋友們，我告訴你們，不要懼怕那些殺害人的身體後再也無計可施的人。我告訴你們應該懼怕誰，要懼怕上帝——祂有權終結人的生命，並把人丟在地獄裡。是的，我告訴你們，要懼怕祂！

便·哈達又派人去對亞哈說：「若撒瑪利亞的塵土夠我的士兵每人抓一把，願神明重重地懲罰我。」以色列王說：「你去告訴便·哈達，叫他別剛穿上盔甲就誇口，打完仗卸下盔甲再誇口吧。」

王的烈怒如死亡使者，然而智者能平息王怒。
