尼布甲尼撒就怒火填膺，對沙德拉克、米沙克、亞伯尼哥變了臉色。他下令把窯燒熱，比平常更熱七倍；

王因此發怒，極其震怒，下令消滅巴比倫的所有智慧人。

這時，有人來向他們報告說：「看，你們關在監獄裡的那些人，正站在聖殿裡教導民眾呢！」於是守衛長與差役們一起去把使徒們帶來，並沒有用暴力，因為怕民眾用石頭砸他們。他們把使徒們帶來後，叫他們站在議會當中。大祭司質問他們，

「你們自己要當心。他們將要把你們送交議會；你們會在會堂裡受鞭打。為我的緣故，你們將站在總督和君王面前，好對他們做見證。

他們就滿腔怒火，彼此商量到底怎麼對付耶穌。

過了幾天，菲利克斯與他的猶太人妻子杜茜拉一起來了。他把保羅叫來，聽他講說對基督耶穌的信仰。

掃羅就向約拿單發怒，對他說：「你這忤逆的娼婦之子！難道我不知道嗎？你在袒護耶西的兒子，以致自己蒙羞，也使你母親露體蒙羞！只要耶西的兒子活在這地上一天，你和你的王位就不能穩固。現在，你派人去把他帶到我這裡來，他必須死！」約拿單回應他父親掃羅說：「他為什麼該死？他做了什麼呢？」掃羅把長矛朝著約拿單擲出去，要擊殺他。約拿單就知道，他父親是決意要殺大衛。

卻沒有看重該隱和他的供物。該隱就極其惱火，他的臉沉了下來。

不過在所有這些事以前，他們將對你們下手，逼迫你們，把你們送交會堂，送進監獄；為我名的緣故，你們將被帶到君王和總督面前。

好發火的人，挑動紛爭；易怒的人，過犯眾多。

哈曼看到末迪凱不向他屈身下拜，就充滿了怒火。在他眼中看來，只對末迪凱一人下手還不夠，因為他們把末迪凱的民族告訴了哈曼；於是哈曼就圖謀除滅亞哈隨魯全國所有的猶太人，就是末迪凱本族的人。

石頭重，沙土沉，愚妄人的惱怒比這兩樣更重。

為我的緣故，你們將被帶到總督和君王面前，好對他們和外邦人做見證。

寧可遇見被奪去幼崽的母熊，也不要遇見行在愚妄中的愚昧人。
