尼布甲尼撒怒氣填胸，向沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌大發雷霆，下令將火窯燒得比平時熱七倍，

王大怒，下令處死巴比倫所有的智者。

這時有人來報告說：「你們關押在牢裡的人正在聖殿裡教導人！」聖殿護衛長和差役再去把使徒抓回來。這次他們不敢動粗，生怕百姓會用石頭打他們。使徒被帶來後站在公會前，大祭司盤問他們，說：

「你們要小心，因為你們將被送上法庭，將在會堂裡受鞭打，又將為了我的緣故在官長和君王面前做見證。

但法利賽人和律法教師卻怒火中燒，開始商議對付耶穌的辦法。

幾天後，腓利斯和他的妻子猶太人土西拉一同來了，召見保羅，聽他講信基督耶穌的事。

掃羅向約拿單發怒，對他說：「你這邪惡叛逆婦人所生之子！難道我不知道你是站在耶西的兒子那邊嗎？你這樣做不但自取其辱，也使你母親蒙羞。只要耶西的兒子活在世上，你和你的王位就不得安穩。你派人把他抓到我這裡，他非死不可。」約拿單問：「為什麼要殺他？他做了什麼？」掃羅氣得把矛擲向約拿單，想要殺他。約拿單知道父親決意要殺大衛。

卻不悅納該隱和他的祭物。該隱便非常惱火，面帶怒容。

「這些事情出現之前，人們要拘捕你們，迫害你們，把你們押到會堂和監牢，你們將為了我的名而被君王和官長審問。

憤怒的人挑起紛爭，暴躁的人多有過犯。

哈曼見末底改不肯向他跪拜，就怒氣填胸。他得知末底改是猶太人後，便不屑於只害末底改一人，而是要剷除亞哈隨魯王國內所有的猶太人，即末底改的同胞。

石頭沉，沙土重，不如愚人惹的麻煩重。

你們要因我的緣故被帶到官長和君王面前，在他們和外族人面前為我做見證。

寧願遇見丟失幼崽的母熊，也不願碰上做蠢事的愚人。
