Then the astrologers answered the king,“ May the king live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it.”

Then those who studied the heavens answered the king. They spoke in Aramaic. They said,“ King Nebuchadnezzar, may you live forever! Tell us what you dreamed. Then we’ll explain what it means.”

The wise men replied to the king:[ What follows is in Aramaic]“ O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will disclose its interpretation.”

They answered Nebuchadnezzar the king,“ O king, live for ever!

The queen by reason of the words of the king and his lords came into the banquet house. The queen spoke and said,“ O king, live forever; don’t let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your face be changed.

In the days of Artaxerxes, Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel, and the rest of his companions, wrote to Artaxerxes king of Persia; and the writing of the letter was written in Syrian, and delivered in the Syrian language.

Then Daniel said to the king,“ O king, live forever!

Then these presidents and local governors assembled together to the king, and said this to him,“ King Darius, live forever!

Then Eliakim, Shebna and Joah said to Rabshakeh,“ Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, for we understand it. Don’t speak to us in the Jews’ language in the hearing of the people who are on the wall.”

Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and showed respect to the king, and said,“ Let my lord king David live forever!”

Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried out,“ Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in; and I told the dream before them; but they didn’t make known to me its interpretation.

Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken mute for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered,“ Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream, or the interpretation, trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered,“ My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries.

Samuel said to all the people,“ Do you see him whom Yahweh has chosen, that there is no one like him among all the people?” All the people shouted, and said,“ Long live the king!”

Then all the king’s wise men came in; but they could not read the writing, and couldn’t make known to the king the interpretation.

I said to the king,“ Let the king live forever! Why shouldn’t my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?”

For he has gone down today, and has slain cattle, fatlings, and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king’s sons, the captains of the army, and Abiathar the priest. Behold, they are eating and drinking before him, and saying,‘ Long live king Adonijah!’

who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;

In the morning, his spirit was troubled, and he sent and called for all of Egypt’s magicians and wise men. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.

The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting,“ Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
