During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven

During that night, God gave Daniel a vision. He showed him what the mystery was all about. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven.

In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed;Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,

He said,“ Now hear my words. If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

“ After this I saw in the night visions, and, behold, there was a fourth animal, awesome and powerful, and exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth. It devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It was different from all the animals that were before it. It had ten horns.

Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

But as it is written,“ Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

“ Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.

Now the king of Syria was at war against Israel; and he took counsel with his servants, saying,“ My camp will be in such and such a place.”The man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying,“ Beware that you not pass this place; for the Syrians are coming down there.”The king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once or twice.The king of Syria’s heart was very troubled about this. He called his servants, and said to them,“ Won’t you show me which of us is for the king of Israel?”One of his servants said,“ No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying,“ Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”

Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

He reveals the deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,

Daniel answered before the king, and said,“ The secret which the king has demanded can’t be shown to the king by wise men, enchanters, magicians, or soothsayers;but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head on your bed, are these:“ As for you, O king, your thoughts came on your bed, what should happen hereafter; and he who reveals secrets has made known to you what will happen.

The friendship of Yahweh is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant.
