He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

浸假而五十義者、缺其五、豈因是滅此一邑乎。曰、如有四十五人、則亦弗滅。

又曰、耶和華既援我於獅熊、亦必救我於非利士人手。掃羅曰、往哉、願耶和華祐爾。

當斯時也、義與不義之人、爾得詳辨之、事上帝與不事上帝者、爾得區別之。

亞述王遣僕臘沙基、侮永生之上帝、爾之上帝耶和華、或聞其言、而加以譴責、故請爾為遺民、禱告於上、

惟主左右我、剛健我、使我足傳道、俾異邦人聞之、我得救出於獅口、主必拯我於患難、得到天國、願榮光歸之、永世靡暨、

后遣使再告木底改曰、當集書山猶大人、緣我禁食三晝夜、我與侍女亦將禁食、然後入宮覲王、雖違例而亡、亦弗顧也。木底改往、遵后所命而行。

人有百羊、而喪其一、爾意云何、不姑舍九十九羊於山、往求其喪者乎、

惟主救敬虔之人、免於患難、而留不義者、待鞫日受刑、

一心恃耶和華、毋恃己能。凡事崇主、則蒙啟導。
