He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

以斯帖吩咐人回覆末底改说：“你当去召集书珊所有的犹太人，为我禁食三昼三夜，不吃不喝；我和我的宫女也要这样禁食。然后我违例去晋见王，我若死就死吧！”于是末底改照以斯帖一切所吩咐的去做。

他们听见了，就同心合意地高声向神说：“主宰啊！你是那创造天、地、海和其中万物的；你曾藉着圣灵托你仆人—我们祖宗大卫的口说：‘外邦为什么扰动？万民为什么谋算虚妄的事？地上的君王都站稳，臣宰也聚集一处，要对抗主，对抗主的受膏者。’希律和本丢‧彼拉多，同外邦人和以色列民，果然在这城里聚集，要攻打你所膏的圣仆耶稣，做了你手和你旨意所预定必成就的事。主啊，现在求你鉴察，他们的威吓，使你仆人放胆讲你的道，伸出你的手来，让医治、神迹、奇事藉着你圣仆耶稣的名行出来。”他们祷告完了，聚会的地方震动；他们都被圣灵充满，放胆传讲神的道。

弟兄们，我藉着我们的主耶稣基督，又藉着圣灵的爱，劝你们与我一同竭力为我祈求神，

你要专心仰赖耶和华，不可倚靠自己的聪明，在你一切所行的路上都要认定他，他必使你的道路平直。

即便如此，我们所事奉的神能将我们从烈火的窑中救出来。王啊，他必救我们脱离你的手；
