He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

He asked them to pray that the God of heaven would give him mercy. He wanted God to help him understand the mystery of the king’s dream. Then he and his friends wouldn’t be killed along with Babylon’s other wise men.

以斯帖就吩咐人回報末底改說：「你當去招聚書珊城所有的猶大人，為我禁食三晝三夜，不吃不喝；我和我的宮女也要這樣禁食。然後我違例進去見王，我若死就死吧！」於是末底改照以斯帖一切所吩咐的去行。

他們聽見了，就同心合意地高聲向神說：「主啊！你是造天、地、海，和其中萬物的，你曾藉着聖靈，託你僕人－我們祖宗大衛的口，說：外邦為甚麼爭鬧？萬民為甚麼謀算虛妄的事？世上的君王一齊起來，臣宰也聚集，要敵擋主，並主的受膏者。希律和本丟‧彼拉多，外邦人和以色列民，果然在這城裏聚集，要攻打你所膏的聖僕耶穌，成就你手和你意旨所預定必有的事。他們恐嚇我們，現在求主鑒察，一面叫你僕人大放膽量講你的道，一面伸出你的手來醫治疾病，並且使神蹟奇事因着你聖僕耶穌的名行出來。」

弟兄們，我藉着我們主耶穌基督，又藉着聖靈的愛，勸你們與我一同竭力，為我祈求神，

你要專心仰賴耶和華，不可倚靠自己的聰明，在你一切所行的事上都要認定他，他必指引你的路。

即便如此，我們所事奉的神能將我們從烈火的窰中救出來。王啊，他也必救我們脫離你的手；
