耶穌回答：“人若愛我，就要遵守我的話，我父必定愛他，並且我們要到他那裡去，跟他住在一起。

這保惠師就是真理的靈，世人不能接受他，因為看不見他，也不認識他。你們卻認識他，因為他跟你們住在一起，也要在你們裡面。

法老對約瑟說：“神既然把這事指示了你，就再沒有人像你這樣有見識有智慧了。

我聽見有大聲音從寶座那裡發出來，說：“看哪！神的帳幕在人間，他要與人同住，他們要作他的子民。神要親自與他們同在，要作他們的神。

但以理在王面前回答說：“王所問的那隱祕的事，沒有智慧人、用法術的、術士和占星家能向王解釋；只有一位在天上的神能把一切隱祕的事顯明；他已經把日後將要發生的事告訴你尼布甲尼撒王了。你的夢和你躺在床上時腦海中出現的異象就是這樣：

你升到高天的時候，擄了許多俘虜；你在人間，就是在悖逆的人當中，接受了禮物，使耶和華神可以與他們同住。

神的殿和偶像怎能協調呢？我們就是永生神的殿，正如神說：“我要住在他們中間，在他們中間來往；我要作他們的神，他們要作我的子民。”

“神真的要和人住在地上嗎？看哪，天和天上的天也容不下你，何況我建造的這殿呢？

“這是我永遠安息的居所；我要住在這裡，因為我定意這樣作。

耶和華這樣說：“天是我的寶座，地是我的腳凳；你們要在哪裡為我建造殿宇呢？怎樣的地方才是我安息的所在呢？”耶和華說：“這一切都是我親手所造的，所以它們就有了。以下這種人是我要垂顧的，就是謙卑、心靈傷痛、因我的話而戰兢的人。

你們不可玷污你所住的地，就是我居住的地，因為我耶和華是居住在以色列人中間的。’”

“神真的住在地上嗎？看哪！天和天上的天尚且不能容納你，何況我建造的這殿呢？

現在我要追討我還未有追討的流人血的罪。耶和華在錫安居住。”
