and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk,nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,

these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.“ For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.

And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say,‘ They are my people’; and they will say,‘ The Lord is my God.’”

My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

And the wise among the people shall make many understand, though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder.

And he said to them,“ O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink.As for the scoundrel— his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right.

as it is written,“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.”And David says,“ Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them;let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.”

Then Pilate said to him,“ So you are a king?” Jesus answered,“ You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world— to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Then one of the elders addressed me, saying,“ Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?”I said to him,“ Sir, you know.” And he said to me,“ These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord.

And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.

“ Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds.

But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they are to be left for salt.

Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,

And he said to them,“ To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables,

And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.

For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.

who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

As the proverb of the ancients says,‘ Out of the wicked comes wickedness.’ But my hand shall not be against you.

so that the tested genuineness of your faith— more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire— may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
