After he has arisen, his empire will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the power he exercised, because his empire will be uprooted and given to others.

我觀看這些角時，見其中長出一個小角，先前的角中有三個被連根拔出，讓它取而代之。這小角有人的眼睛和說狂言的口。

當我宣佈要剷除、推翻、毀滅哪一邦或哪一國的時候，

人生不過是幻影，勞碌奔波卻一場空，積蓄財富卻不知誰來享用。

我憎惡自己在日光之下勞碌得來的一切，因為這些必留給後人。誰知道那人是智者還是愚人呢？然而，他卻要接管我在日光之下用智慧辛勤經營的產業。這也是虛空。

耶穌知道他們的心思，就說：「一個國內部自相紛爭，必然滅亡；一座城、一個家內部自相紛爭，必然崩潰。

我要告訴你，耶和華說，『我必在整個大地上拆毀我所建立的，剷除我所栽培的。

但上帝對他說，『無知的人啊！今晚就要取走你的命！你所預備的一切留給誰享用呢？』」

惡人得勢不會長久，不信上帝者的快樂轉瞬即逝？雖然他傲氣沖天，把頭挺到雲端，終必如自己的糞便永遠消亡，見過他的人都不知他在何處。

我見過邪惡殘暴之人，乍看如蔥蘢的黎巴嫩香柏樹，再一看，他已經消失得無影無蹤，無處可尋。

「此後，我繼續觀看，見還有一隻獸像豹，背上有四個如鳥翼般的翅膀。這獸有四個頭，並被賦予權柄。

甚至拋屍、倒灰的整個山谷，以及從汲淪溪到東邊馬門拐角的所有田地都要歸給耶和華作聖地，永不再被傾覆、毀滅。」

有一個人孤孤單單，沒有兒子也沒有兄弟，卻終身勞碌。他雖然家道豐裕，仍不滿足，從未想過「我不停地勞碌，放棄一切享受，究竟是為了誰？」這也是虛空，是一種悲哀。

他們倚靠金錢、誇耀財富，卻不能救贖自己的生命，也無法向上帝付生命的贖價。因為生命的贖價高昂，無人付得起，以致可以永遠活著，不進墳墓。眾所周知，即使智者也要死去，愚人和庸者也要滅亡，將他們的財富留給別人。儘管他們用自己的名字來為產業命名，墳墓卻是他們永遠的歸宿，世代的住處。人不能長享富貴，終必死去，與獸無異。

直到我進入你的聖所，才明白他們的結局。你把他們放在容易滑倒的地方，使他們落入毀滅中。他們頃刻間被毀滅，在恐怖中徹底滅亡。他們不過是人醒來後的一場夢。主啊，你一行動，他們必灰飛煙滅。
