Many will be purged, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.

And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered greatly.

It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority was given to him over every tribe, people, language, and nation.All who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slaughtered.If anyone has an ear, let him hear.If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.

When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained;

being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.And they laid hands on them and put them in prison until the next day, for it was already evening.But many of those who had heard the message believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

And after they had preached the gospel to that city and had made a good number of disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch,

and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And for an entire year they met with the church and taught considerable numbers of people; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.

“ Have you understood all these things?” They* said to Him,“ Yes.”And Jesus said to them,“ Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure new things and old.”

teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

For I think, God has exhibited us, the apostles, last of all as men condemned to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to mankind.

And he had James the brother of John executed with a sword.When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter as well.( Now these were the days of Unleavened Bread.)

The Lord’s bond servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, skillful in teaching, patient when wronged,with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

“ Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

I said to him,“ My lord, you know.” And he said to me,“ These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Now He said to them,“ These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,and He said to them,“ So it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

‘ I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold firmly to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

And those who have insight will shine like the glow of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.But as for you, Daniel, keep these words secret and seal up the book until the end of time; many will roam about, and knowledge will increase.”

And Jesus answered them,“ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.

Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, And the ears of those who hear will listen.The mind of the rash will discern the truth, And the tongue of the stammerers will hurry to speak clearly.

For this reason I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to protect what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

and others experienced mocking and flogging, and further, chains and imprisonment.They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented( people of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts, on mountains, and sheltering in caves and holes in the ground.
