With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.

He will pretend to praise those who have broken the covenant. He will lead them to do what is evil. But the people who know their God will firmly oppose him.

He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.

He will flatter and win over those who have violated the covenant. But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him.

And by smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will be strong and take action.

Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he pervert by flatteries; but the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

With flattery he will corrupt those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will be strong and take action.

Then with smooth words he will defile those who have rejected the covenant. But the people who are loyal to their God will act valiantly.

“ As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him wholeheartedly and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands the intention of every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will reject you forever.

This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent— Jesus Christ.

This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commands.The one who says,“ I have come to know him,” and yet doesn’t keep his commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Those who know your name trust in you because you have not abandoned those who seek you, LORD.

Remember the earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings.Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way.

You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who try to lift it will injure themselves severely when all the nations of the earth gather against her.On that day”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness. A lying tongue hates those it crushes, and a flattering mouth causes ruin.

Look, a day belonging to the LORD is coming when the plunder taken from you will be divided in your presence.I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations as he fights on a day of battle.On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives will be split in half from east to west, forming a huge valley, so that half the mountain will move to the north and half to the south.

So they were each given a white robe, and they were told to rest a little while longer until the number would be completed of their fellow servants and their brothers and sisters, who were going to be killed just as they had been.

Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought,but he could not prevail, and there was no place for them in heaven any longer.So the great dragon was thrown out— the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’s sake.For God who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands.And they cried out in a loud voice: Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true one. We are in the true one— that is, in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

I will perform miracles for them as in the days of your exodus from the land of Egypt.Nations will see and be ashamed of all their power. They will put their hands over their mouths, and their ears will become deaf.They will lick the dust like a snake; they will come trembling out of their hiding places like reptiles slithering on the ground. They will tremble in the presence of the LORD our God; they will stand in awe of you.

But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.

The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with every kind of miracle, both signs and wonders serving the lie,and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved.For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie,so that all will be condemned— those who did not believe the truth but delighted in unrighteousness.
