But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!” (niv)

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. (niv)

So he said,“ Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth.( No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince. (niv)

Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.They bribed officials to work against them and frustrate their plans during the entire reign of Cyrus king of Persia and down to the reign of Darius king of Persia.At the beginning of the reign of Xerxes, they lodged an accusation against the people of Judah and Jerusalem. Thus the work on the house of God in Jerusalem came to a standstill until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia. (niv)
