But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

“那時保護你同胞的偉大護衛天使米迦勒必站起來；並且必有患難的時期，是立國以來直到那時未曾有過的。那時你的同胞中名字記錄在冊上的，都必得拯救。

就是天使長米迦勒為了摩西的屍體與魔鬼爭論的時候，尚且不敢用毀謗的話定他的罪，只說：“主責備你！”

天上發生了戰爭：米迦勒和他的天使與龍作戰。龍和牠的天使也起來應戰，

他說：“現在我要回去和波斯的護衛天使作戰；我一離去，希臘的護衛天使就要來。但你知道我為甚麼到你這裡來嗎？我來是要把那記錄在真理書上的事告訴你。除了你們的護衛天使米迦勒之外，沒有一個幫助我，和我一起抵擋他們。”

基督已進到天上，在神右邊，眾天使、有權勢的、有能力的，都服從了他。

你們也是在他裡面得了豐盛。他是一切執政掌權者的元首。

因為我們的爭戰，對抗的不是有血有肉的人，而是執政的、掌權的、管轄這黑暗世界的和天上的邪靈。

因此，我們很想到你們那裡去，我保羅也一再想去，只是撒但阻擋了我們。

耶和華又使我看見大祭司約書亞站在耶和華的使者面前，撒但也站在約書亞右邊控告他。耶和華對撒但說：“撒但哪！耶和華斥責你，那揀選了耶路撒冷的耶和華斥責你。這個人不是從火中抽出來的一根柴嗎？”

於是那地方的居民使猶大人的手發軟，驚擾他們的建築工程。又在波斯王古列的日子，直到波斯王大利烏在位的時候，常常賄買參謀，來敵對猶大人，要破壞他們的建殿計劃。亞哈隨魯在位的初期，他們寫了訴狀，控告猶大和耶路撒冷的居民。

所以，在耶路撒冷的神殿的工程就停止了，直到波斯王大利烏在位的第二年。
