不要使我的心偏向邪惡的事，以致我和作惡的人一同行惡；也不叫我吃他們的美食。

你們看那按肉體是以色列人的，那些吃祭物的人豈不是與祭壇有份嗎？那麼，我怎麼說呢？是說祭偶像之物算得了甚麼嗎？或說偶像算得了甚麼嗎？不，我是說，他們所獻的祭是祭鬼，不是祭神；我不願意你們與鬼來往。你們不能喝主的杯，又喝鬼的杯；不能吃主的筵席，又吃鬼的筵席。

作惡的人哪，你們離開我吧！我要遵守我神的命令。

倘若有人心裏堅定，沒有不得已的事，並且由得自己作主，心裏又決定了不讓女兒結婚，這樣做也好。

吃了他們祭牲脂肪的，喝了他們澆酒祭之酒的，叫那些神明站出來幫助你們，作為你們的保障吧！

他到了那裏，看見神所賜的恩就歡喜，勸勉眾人要立定心志，恆久靠主。

各人要隨心所願，不要為難，不要勉強，因為神愛樂捐的人。

王從自己所用的膳和所飲的酒中，派給他們每日的分量，養育他們三年，好叫他們期滿以後侍立在王面前。

若有人對你們說：「這是獻過祭的物」，那麼為了那告訴你們的人，並為了良心的緣故就不吃。我說的良心不是你自己的，而是他的。我的自由為甚麼被別人的良心評斷呢？我若謝恩而吃，為甚麼因我謝恩的物被人毀謗呢？所以，你們或吃或喝，無論做甚麼，都要為榮耀神而做。

你公義的典章，我曾起誓遵守，我必按着誓言而行。

可是，不是人人都有這知識。有人到現在因拜慣了偶像，仍以為所吃的是祭過偶像的食物；既然他們的良心軟弱，也就污穢了。其實，食物不能使我們更接近神，因為我們不吃也無損，吃也無益。可是，你們要謹慎，免得你們這自由竟成了軟弱人的絆腳石。若有人見你這有知識的在偶像的廟裏坐席，而這人的良心是軟弱的，他豈不放膽去吃那祭過偶像的食物嗎？

你若因食物使弟兄憂愁，就不是按着愛心行事。基督已經為他死，你不可因你的食物使他敗壞。所以，不可讓你們的善被人毀謗。因為神的國不在乎飲食，而在乎公義、和平及聖靈中的喜樂。

彼得卻說：「主啊，絕對不可！凡污俗和不潔淨的東西，我從來沒有吃過。」第二次有聲音再對他說：「神所潔淨的，你不可當作污俗的。」這樣一連三次，那東西隨即收回天上去了。

看哪，我吩咐要為耶和華－我神的名建殿，是照耶和華向我父親大衛說的：『我必使你兒子接續你，坐你的王位，他必為我的名建殿。』

你死在哪裏，我也死在哪裏，葬在哪裏。只有死能使你我分離；不然，願耶和華重重懲罰我！」拿娥米見路得決意要跟自己去，就不再對她說甚麼了。

他們又與巴力‧毗珥連合，吃了祭死人的物。
