試觀以色列族、食祭物者、非有分於祭臺乎、所言何也、偶像豈足稱道乎、祭偶像之物、亦豈足稱道乎、惟異邦人所獻之祭、祭鬼魔、非祭天主、我不欲爾與鬼魔交、爾不能飲主之杯、又飲鬼魔之杯、不能共主之席、又共鬼魔之席、

作惡之人乎、爾曹皆當離我、我必遵守我天主之誡命、

倘人堅心、無不得已之事、且得行其志、定意留女不嫁、如是而行為美、

素饗其犧牲之脂、又飲其所奠之酒、何不起而拯救、何不護衛爾曹、

既至、見天主之恩甚喜、乃勸眾堅心從主、

各當隨心所願、勿憂勿強、蓋樂施者天主所愛也、

若爾因所食、使兄弟憂、則所行不循愛人之道、基督為之死、爾勿以所食而敗之、慎勿以所以為善者、令人毀謗、蓋天主國不在飲食、乃在義與和與聖神所賜之樂也、

彼得曰、主歟、斷乎不可、凡俗物與不潔之物、我從未食也、其聲又曰、天主所潔者、爾勿以為俗、如是者三次、物復收於天、○
