这些年轻人必须没有残疾、英俊、足智多才、有高度学习能力、明察事理，而且他们必须有能力可以在王宫里工作。你要教他们学习迦勒底的文学和语言。”

皆無瑕疵、丰采甚都、智識兼備、可立於朝者、教以迦勒底人語言文字王日賜以糈糧酒醴、比及三年、乃使侍於王前、

選少者數人、皆須無瑕疵、相貌俊美、通達各學各術、知識具備、可侍立於王宮者、當教之以迦勒底之文詞言語、

young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.

He was looking for young men who were healthy and handsome. They had to be able to learn anything. They had to be well educated. They had to have the ability to understand new things quickly and easily. The king wanted men who could serve in his palace. Ashpenaz was supposed to teach them the Babylonian language and writings.

youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king’s palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.

“ Select only strong, healthy, and good looking young men,” he said.“ Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace. Train these young men in the language and literature of Babylon.”

在你國中有一個人，他裏頭有聖神明之靈。你父在世的日子，發現這人心中有亮光、有通達，有智慧，好像神明的智慧；你父尼布甲尼撒王曾經立了他為術士及用法術的、跟迦勒底博學的人和占卜者、的領袖；

摩西在埃及人的各樣學問上受了訓練，說話行事都大有能力。

全以色列中沒有俊秀的人能比得上押沙龍的：他非常得人讚美：從腳掌到頭頂沒有一點瑕疵。

你看辦事敏捷的人吧；他必侍立於君王面前；他不侍立於微賤無名的人面前。

人若使他的同伴有殘疾；他怎樣待人，人也必怎樣待他；以傷還傷，以眼還眼，以牙還牙：他怎樣使人有殘疾，人也必怎樣使他有殘疾。

這四個年輕人、上帝在各樣典籍和學問上都賜給他們知識和通達；但以理又明白各樣異象和夢兆。尼布甲尼撒王吩咐把眾年輕人引進去的日期到了，太監長就把他們引進到王面前。王同他們談了話；見他們中間沒有一個能比得上但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅的；於是他們四人就侍立在王面前。王無論諮詢他們甚麼智慧聰明的事、都看出他們比全國所有的學術士和用法術的還勝過十倍。

因為凡有殘疾的人、無論是瞎眼的、瘸腿的、塌鼻子的、肢體有餘的、無論是折腳折手的、駝背的、矮小的、眼睛有毛病的、長牛皮癬的、長疹瘡的、或是腎子損壞的、都不可走近前來。祭司亞倫的後裔中、凡有殘疾的人、都不可挨近前來獻永恆主的火祭；他有殘疾，他不可挨近前來獻他的上帝的食物。

王使勁地喊着，吩咐人將那些用法術的、那些迦勒底博學的人、和占卜的、領進來。王應時對巴比倫的博士說：『甚麼人能讀這文字，把它的解析向我講明白的、他就可以穿紫紅色袍，脖子上帶金鍊，在國中掌權、居第三位。』

當那時機、摩西生下來了，俊美非凡、蒙上帝喜悅；就在父親家裏撫養了三個月；

迦勒底博學的人就用亞蘭語對王說：『願王萬歲！請將那夢告訴僕人，僕人就可以把解析講明白。』王回答迦勒底博學的人說：『這事我已決定；你們若不將夢和夢的解析告訴我，就必須被凌遲，你們的房屋必須被拆毁。

王吩咐人將學術士和用法術的、行邪術的、迦勒底博學的人、都召了來，將王的夢告訴王。他們就來，站在王面前。

於是那些學術士、那些用法術的、和迦勒底博學的人、跟占卜的、都進了來；我將那夢告訴了他們，他們卻不能把夢的解析告訴我。

基甸對西巴和撒慕拿說：『你們在他泊山所殺的人在哪裏？』他們說：『你甚麼樣子，他們也甚麼樣子；每一個都像王子的丰姿。』

那時就有幾個迦勒底人進前來、誣衊控告了這幾個猶大人。

智慧使智慧人有能力，比城中十個諮議員更有權勢。

好把教會獻給自己、滿有光彩、沒有污點皺紋等類、乃是聖潔沒有瑕疵的。

迦勒底博學的人在王面前回答說：『世界上沒有人能將王所問的事說出來的，因為沒有王、多麼大、多麼有權力、曾經向任何學術士、或用法術的、或迦勒底博學的人、問過這樣事的。

應聲地說：『上帝的名是應當受祝頌從亟古到永遠的，因為智慧能力都屬於他。是他使時代和時期改變的；他廢王，他立王，他將智慧賜給智慧人，將知識賜給聰明人；
