皆無瑕疵、丰采甚都、智識兼備、可立於朝者、教以迦勒底人語言文字王日賜以糈糧酒醴、比及三年、乃使侍於王前、

選少者數人、皆須無瑕疵、相貌俊美、通達各學各術、知識具備、可侍立於王宮者、當教之以迦勒底之文詞言語、

young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.

He was looking for young men who were healthy and handsome. They had to be able to learn anything. They had to be well educated. They had to have the ability to understand new things quickly and easily. The king wanted men who could serve in his palace. Ashpenaz was supposed to teach them the Babylonian language and writings.

youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king’s palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.

“ Select only strong, healthy, and good looking young men,” he said.“ Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace. Train these young men in the language and literature of Babylon.”

在你的国中有一个人，他里面有圣洁之神的灵；你先王年间就发现这人里面有光明、有悟性、有智慧如同神的智慧；你先王尼布甲尼撒亲自任命他为术士、占卜者、迦勒底人和算命者的领袖。你先王这样做，

摩西在埃及人的一切智慧上受了教育，说话行事都有能力。

你看见过做事老练的人吗？他必站在君王面前，而不会站在低微的人面前。

至于这四个年轻人，神赐给他们在各种文学和智慧上的学识和明达；但以理甚至能领悟各样的异象和异梦。王所吩咐的那些日子结束时，就是要把他们带进宫中的时候，太监总管就把他们带到尼布甲尼撒面前。王与他们谈论，在那些年轻人中找不到一个像但以理、哈纳尼雅、米沙利、亚撒利雅那样的。于是这四个人就在王面前侍立。王向他们寻问各样有关智慧和悟性的事，发现他们胜过全国所有的术士和占卜者十倍。

王大声高呼，要人把占卜者、迦勒底人和算命者带来。王开口对巴比伦的智慧人说：“任何人读出这文字，并把它的释义讲明给我，他就必身穿紫袍，项戴金链，在国中掌权，位居第三。”

就在那时候，摩西出生了。他在神的眼里十分俊美，在父亲家里被抚养了三个月。

那些迦勒底人用亚兰语对王说：“愿王万岁！请把梦告诉你的仆人们，我们就会讲明梦的释义。”王回应那些迦勒底人，说：“我所发出的命令是确定的：如果你们不把这梦和梦的释义显明给我，你们就必被千刀万剐，你们的家必变为一堆废墟；

于是王吩咐人召来术士、占卜者、行巫术的和迦勒底人，要他们把王的梦告诉王。他们就来了，站在王面前。

于是术士、占卜者、迦勒底人和算命者都来了；我就向他们说了这梦，他们却不能把这梦的释义显明给我。

当时，有些迦勒底人前来恶意控告犹太人。

智慧使智慧人比城中十个掌权者更有能力。

为要给自己预备一个荣耀的教会，没有污渍、皱纹或任何这类的事，却要她成为圣洁、毫无瑕疵。

那些迦勒底人在王面前回应说：“地上没有人能讲明王所要求的事；事实上，没有任何一个伟大、有权势的君王，向任何一个术士、占卜者或迦勒底人问过这样的事。

但以理开口说：“愿神的名受颂赞，从永远到永远，因智慧和大能都属于他；是他改变时势和时期；是他废王、立王；是他赐智慧给智慧人，赐知识给有悟性的人；
