即少年無疵、美姿容、嫻智慧、具知識、明格致、可侍於王宮者、教以迦勒底人之學術語言、

皆無瑕疵、丰采甚都、智識兼備、可立於朝者、教以迦勒底人語言文字王日賜以糈糧酒醴、比及三年、乃使侍於王前、

選少者數人、皆須無瑕疵、相貌俊美、通達各學各術、知識具備、可侍立於王宮者、當教之以迦勒底之文詞言語、

young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.

He was looking for young men who were healthy and handsome. They had to be able to learn anything. They had to be well educated. They had to have the ability to understand new things quickly and easily. The king wanted men who could serve in his palace. Ashpenaz was supposed to teach them the Babylonian language and writings.

youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king’s palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.

“ Select only strong, healthy, and good looking young men,” he said.“ Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace. Train these young men in the language and literature of Babylon.”

在你國中有一個人，他裡面有聖神的靈；你先祖在世的日子，發現這人有灼見，有聰明，有智慧，好像神的智慧一樣。你先祖尼布甲尼撒王，就是王的先祖，曾立他為術士、用法術的，以及迦勒底人和占星家的領袖。

摩西學盡了埃及人的一切學問，說話行事都有能力。

在全以色列中，沒有一個人像押沙龍那樣英俊，得人稱讚，從腳底到頭頂，都沒有一點缺陷。

你見過辦事能幹的人嗎？他必侍立在君王面前，必不會侍立在低微的人面前。

如果有人使他的同伴傷殘；他怎樣待人，人也必怎樣待他；以傷還傷，以眼還眼，以牙還牙；他怎樣使人傷殘，人也必怎樣使他傷殘。

這四個年輕人在各種文字和學問上，神都賜他們知識和聰明；但以理並且能明白一切異象和異夢。到了王吩咐帶所有年輕人進宮的日子，太監長就領他們到尼布甲尼撒王面前。王和他們談話，發現他們所有的人中，沒有一個比得上但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅的；他們四人就侍立在王面前。王考問他們一切智慧和聰明的事，就發現他們比全國所有的術士和用法術的更勝十倍。

因為有殘疾的，無論是瞎眼、瘸腿、五官不正、畸形、斷腳斷手的、駝背、矮小、眼睛有毛病、長癬、生疹，或是腎子損壞的，都不可走近來，亞倫祭司的後裔中，有殘疾的，都不可上前來獻耶和華的火祭；他既有殘疾，就不可上前來獻他的神的食物。

王大聲呼叫，吩咐人把那些用法術的和迦勒底人，以及占星家都領進來；王對巴比倫的智慧人說：“誰能讀這文字，又能向我解釋它的意思，他必身穿紫袍，頸戴金鍊，在國中掌權，位列第三。”

就在那時候，摩西出生了，他非常俊美，在父親的家中撫養了三個月。

迦勒底人用亞蘭話對王說：“願王萬歲！請把那夢告訴僕人，我們好解釋夢的意思。”王回答迦勒底人說：“我已經定旨：如果你們不把那夢和夢的意思向我說明，就必被碎屍萬段，你們的家必成為廢墟。

於是王吩咐人把術士、用法術的、行邪術的和迦勒底人都召來，要他們把王的夢告訴王。他們來了，站在王面前。

於是術士、用法術的、迦勒底人和占星家都進來；我當面把那夢告訴了他們，可是他們卻不能把夢的意思向我說明。

基甸問西巴和撒慕拿：“你們在他泊山上所殺的人，是甚麼模樣的人？”他們回答：“他們像你一樣，每一個都像王子的模樣。”

那時，有幾個迦勒底人前來，誣衊控告猶大人。

智慧使智慧人比城中十個官長更有能力。

可以作榮耀的教會歸給自己，甚麼污點皺紋等也沒有，而是聖潔沒有瑕疵的。

迦勒底人在王面前回答說：“世上沒有人能把王所問的事說出來，因為從來沒有一個偉大和有權勢的君王向術士、用法術的和迦勒底人詢問過這樣的事。

但以理說：“願神的名得稱頌，從永遠直到永遠，因為智慧和能力都是屬他的。他改變時間、季節；他廢王、立王；他賜智慧給智慧人，賜知識給聰明人。
