即少年無疵、美姿容、嫻智慧、具知識、明格致、可侍於王宮者、教以迦勒底人之學術語言、

皆無瑕疵、丰采甚都、智識兼備、可立於朝者、教以迦勒底人語言文字王日賜以糈糧酒醴、比及三年、乃使侍於王前、

選少者數人、皆須無瑕疵、相貌俊美、通達各學各術、知識具備、可侍立於王宮者、當教之以迦勒底之文詞言語、

young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.

He was looking for young men who were healthy and handsome. They had to be able to learn anything. They had to be well educated. They had to have the ability to understand new things quickly and easily. The king wanted men who could serve in his palace. Ashpenaz was supposed to teach them the Babylonian language and writings.

youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king’s palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.

“ Select only strong, healthy, and good looking young men,” he said.“ Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace. Train these young men in the language and literature of Babylon.”

你國中有一個人，他有聖潔神明的靈。先王在世時，曾發現他有神明一樣的灼見、悟性和智慧。先王尼布甲尼撒立他為術士、巫師、占星家和占卜者的首領。

「摩西學會了埃及人一切的學問，成為一個說話辦事很有能力的人。

在整個以色列，沒有人像押沙龍那樣因相貌英俊而為人稱道，他從頭到腳毫無瑕疵。

你看那精明能幹的人，他必侍立在君王面前，不會效力於泛泛之輩。

有人傷害別人，也要同樣對待他，要以眼還眼，以牙還牙。他怎樣傷害別人，也要怎樣傷害他。

上帝使這四個青年精通各樣學問和知識。但以理能明白各種異象和夢兆。到了尼布甲尼撒王規定青年們進宮的日子，太監長便帶他們去見王。王與他們談話，發現無人比得上但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利和亞撒利雅，便把他們留在身邊供職。王詢問他們各樣的事，發現他們的智慧和聰明比全國的術士和巫師高十倍。

瞎眼的、跛腳的、五官不正的、畸形的、四肢不全的、駝背的、矮小的、患眼疾的、長疥癬的或睪丸受損的，都不可近前來獻祭。亞倫祭司子孫中有殘疾的都不可向耶和華獻火祭。他們既然有殘疾，就不可近前來獻我的食物。

他大聲傳令，召來巫師、占星家和占卜者，對這些巴比倫的智者說：「誰能讀牆上的字，把意思告訴我，他必身穿紫袍，頸戴金鏈，在國中位居第三。」

那時，摩西出生了，他長得俊美非凡。他的父母在家裡偷偷地撫養了他三個月，

占星家用亞蘭話對王說：「願王萬歲！請將夢告訴僕人，僕人好解釋夢的意思。」王對占星家說：「我的旨意已定，你們若不能將夢和夢的意思告訴我，必被碎屍萬段，你們的家必淪為廢墟。

便派人召來術士、巫師、行法術的和占星家，為他解夢。他們都來到王面前。

術士、巫師、占星家和占卜者都來了，我將夢告訴他們，他們卻不能給我解夢。

基甸問西巴和撒慕拿：「你們在他泊山殺的人是什麼樣子？」他們回答說：「他們長得像你，都像王子一樣。」

那時，有幾個占星家前來控告猶大人。

智慧使一個智者比城裡十個官長更有能力。

以便把聖潔、完美、沒有污點、皺紋等瑕疵的榮耀教會呈獻給祂自己。

占星家說：「王所要求的，世上無人能做到，因為再偉大、再有權勢的君王也沒問過術士、巫師或占星家這樣的事。

說：「上帝的名永永遠遠當受稱頌，因為智慧和能力都屬於祂。祂改變時令和季節，廢王立王，賜智慧給智者，賜知識給哲士。
