And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people,[ that is so] great?

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods[ is] in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.Thus[ were] the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof[ was] great.

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream,[ and] told the sum of the matters.

And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but[ there was] none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard’s house,[ both] me and the chief baker:And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.And[ there was] there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved[ himself], and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and[ there is] none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee,[ that] thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another[ divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods[ is] in thee, and[ that] light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

Wisdom and knowledge[ is] granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that[ have been] before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me,[ even unto] me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

Behold, thou[ art] wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:

Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
