So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong.

It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning.God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say,“ You must remove the evil person from among you.”

Also, people outside the church must speak well of him so that he will not be disgraced and fall into the devil’s trap.

“ Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

He replied,“ You are permitted to understand the secret of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables for everything I say to outsiders,

But in a church meeting I would rather speak five understandable words to help others than ten thousand words in an unknown language.Dear brothers and sisters, don’t be childish in your understanding of these things. Be innocent as babies when it comes to evil, but be mature in understanding matters of this kind.It is written in the Scriptures:“ I will speak to my own people through strange languages and through the lips of foreigners. But even then, they will not listen to me,” says the Lord.So you see that speaking in tongues is a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is for the benefit of believers, not unbelievers.Even so, if unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your church meeting and hear everyone speaking in an unknown language, they will think you are crazy.But if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say.As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring,“ God is truly here among you.”

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over
