What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.

A person should think of us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of the mysteries of God.In this regard, it is required that managers be found faithful.

My sons, don’t be negligent now, for the LORD has chosen you to stand in his presence, to serve him, and to be his ministers and burners of incense.”

I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and because of his appearing and his kingdom:Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and teaching.For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear.They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths.But as for you, exercise self-control in everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Therefore, I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Take hold of eternal life to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.In the presence of God, who gives life to all, and of Christ Jesus, who gave a good confession before Pontius Pilate, I charge youto keep this command without fault or failure until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.

If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words of the faith and the good teaching that you have followed.
