Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

So put to death anything that comes from sinful desires. Get rid of sexual sins and impure acts. Don’t let your feelings get out of control. Remove from your life all evil desires. Stop always wanting more and more. You might as well be worshiping statues of gods.

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

從欲者死、惟藉聖神以滅吾身情欲、則生、

亦勿縱四體為不義之器以犯罪、必也如復生者、獻己與上帝、俾四體為義器、以事上帝、

聖徒不言淫行、污穢、貪婪、乃其宜也、淫辭、浮言、戲謔、則非其宜、務善言、爾知貪婪與拜偶像者、一也、其與淫行、污穢、皆不得基督及上帝國、勿為虛言所誘、以此故、上帝怒不信之人、

凡我良朋為羈旅、我勸爾去私欲、欲戰於中、足害爾魂、

戒淫行、凡罪者或害不及身、行淫者、害無不及身、

然則何以言之、律法豈惡之因乎、曰、不然、非法無以見惡、蓋律法不禁欲、吾末由識欲、惡以誡而乘機、眾欲動於中、未有法、則惡不生、

失其本心、逞一己邪侈、行惡無度、

食為腹、腹納食、上帝悉敗之、身非為淫、乃為主、主祐身、

勿使我至時、上帝卑我、見眾犯罪、污穢淫行、邪侈、而不悔改、為吾憂也、

凡猶豫不信、可憎兇暴淫亂巫覡、拜偶像、言誕妄者、皆必受苦於火坑、坑有硫火、沒後之沉淪如此、

惟四體不覺有一法、與吾心之法戰、執我從四體之惡法、

蓋惡念、兇殺、姦淫、苟合、盜竊、妄證、訕謗、皆由心而起、斯乃污人、

戰鬥爭競、何自而來、非欲戰於中而生乎、

凡梟獍、巫覡、淫亂、兇暴、拜偶像、好誑言者、出之邑外、

潔淨勿淫者、上帝旨也、

婚姻可貴、床笫無玷、苟合淫行者、上帝罪之、

此可為我鑒、示我勿效彼嗜惡、勿效彼拜偶像、經云、民坐而飲食、起而舞蹈、勿行淫、彼曾行淫、一日殞二萬三千人、

然我所謂淫、非概言世之行淫者、蓋貪婪、殘酷、拜偶像之徒、苟欲擯弗與交、必避世乃可、吾書遺爾、若既稱為兄弟、而淫亂、貪婪、拜偶像、詬誶、沉湎、殘酷、則勿與之交、亦勿與共食、

當我從欲時、情轉因律法而為惡、動乎四體、厥果惟死、

聞爾中淫亂、有烝其後母者、雖異邦、未之有也、

充諸不義、淫行、惡慝、貪婪、暴狠、媢嫉、兇殺、爭鬥、詭譎、澆俗、

蓋自其內、即由心出、如惡念、姦淫、苟合、兇殺、盜竊、貪婪、惡毒、詭騙、邪侈、疾視、訕謗、驕傲、狂悖、

蓋自知吾故態、與之釘死、滅厥罪狀、使我不復為罪所役、

是以上帝聽其縱慾污行、婦女以順性之用、變為逆性之施、

恐有淫行妄為者、如以掃緣一哺啜、鬻長子業、

毋縱慾、如異邦人不識上帝、
