Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

You have been raised up with Christ. So think about things that are in heaven. That is where Christ is. He is sitting at God’s right hand.

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness. The path of life leads upward for the prudent to keep them from going down to the realm of the dead. (niv)

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own.If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.Instead, they were longing for a better country— a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. (niv)
