勿以爾之賞、見奪於人、彼以謙卑自稱、效天使崇拜、欲窺無形、私心自衒、

勿被人奪爾之賞、彼故作謙卑、崇拜天使、欲窺所未經見者、

莫令他人以虛偽之謙卑為詞、誘爾敬拜天神、於以奪去爾等之榮冠也。若輩矜其所見、以肉情之幻覺、妄自尊大、舍本逐末、甘自與元首隔絕；

Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.

Some people enjoy pretending they aren’t proud. They worship angels. But don’t let people like that judge you. These people tell you every little thing about what they have seen. They are proud of their useless ideas. That’s because their minds are not guided by the Holy Spirit.

Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind,

Don’t let anyone condemn you by insisting on pious self denial or the worship of angels, saying they have had visions about these things. Their sinful minds have made them proud,

Let no one condemn you by delighting in ascetic practices and the worship of angels, claiming access to a visionary realm. Such people are inflated by empty notions of their unspiritual mind.

Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Let no man rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he hath seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Let no one disqualify you, insisting on ascetic practices and the worship of angels, claiming access to a visionary realm and inflated without cause by his unspiritual mind.

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Let no one who delights in humility and the worship of angels pass judgment on you. That person goes on at great lengths about what he has supposedly seen, but he is puffed up with empty notions by his fleshly mind.

Let no one rob you of your prize by self- abasement and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ.

These are matters which do have the appearance of wisdom in self made religion and humility and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things.And he* said to me,“ Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”

wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

For false christs and false prophets will arise and will provide great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.

For even if there are so called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords,yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.

Then the Lord God said to the woman,“ What is this that you have done?” And the woman said,“ The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.

All who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slaughtered.

Now some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you.

“ Who is this who darkens the divine plan By words without knowledge?

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.

What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is the source not your pleasures that wage war in your body’s parts?You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, so that you may spend what you request on your pleasures.You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose,“ He jealously desires the Spirit whom He has made to dwell in us”?But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says,“ God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish, and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, selfishness, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances;

I say this so that no one will deceive you with persuasive arguments.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

I will give You thanks with all my heart; I will sing Your praises before the gods.I will bow down toward Your holy temple And give thanks to Your name for Your mercy and Your truth; For You have made Your word great according to all Your name.

having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having hearts trained in greed, accursed children;

See that no one deceives you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

“ The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, so that we may follow all the words of this Law.

For such people are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
