At one time you were dead in your sins. Your desires controlled by sin were not circumcised. But God gave you new life together with Christ. He forgave us all our sins.

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.

And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he made you alive with him and forgave us all our trespasses.

And when you were dead in your wrongdoings and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our wrongdoings,

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

And you, being dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you, I say, did he make alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;

And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive with Him and forgave us all our trespasses.

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

And even though you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions.

You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

You were living in your sins and lawless ways. But in fact you were dead.

So he gave us new life because of what Christ has done. He gave us life even when we were dead in sin. God’s grace has saved you.God raised us up with Christ. He has seated us with him in his heavenly kingdom. That’s because we belong to Christ Jesus.

It is written,“ The first man Adam became a living person.”( Genesis 2:7) The last Adam became a spirit that gives life.

The Spirit of the God who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you. So the God who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your bodies. He will do this because of his Spirit who lives in you.

God was bringing the world back to himself through Christ. He did not hold people’s sins against them. God has trusted us with the message that people may be brought back to him.

But Christ offered himself to God without any flaw. He did this through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. So how much cleaner will the blood of Christ make us! It washes away our feelings of guilt for committing sin. Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.

He has given us the power to serve under a new covenant. The covenant is not based on the written Law of Moses. It comes from the Holy Spirit. The written Law kills, but the Spirit gives life.

You who are not Jews by birth, here is what I want you to remember. You are called“ uncircumcised” by those who call themselves“ circumcised.” But they have only been circumcised in their bodies by human hands.

Christ’s love controls us. We are sure that one person died for everyone. And so everyone died.Christ died for everyone. He died so that those who live should not live for themselves anymore. They should live for Christ. He died for them and was raised again.

Don’t give any part of yourself to serve sin. Don’t let any part of yourself be used to do evil. Instead, give yourselves to God. You have been brought from death to life. So give every part of yourself to God to do what is right.

You have sent many bitter troubles my way. But you will give me new life. Even if I’m almost in the grave, you will bring me back.

But suppose we walk in the light, just as he is in the light. Then we share life with one another. And the blood of Jesus, his Son, makes us pure from all sin.Suppose we claim we are without sin. Then we are fooling ourselves. The truth is not in us.But God is faithful and fair. If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure.

A person’s body without their spirit is dead. In the same way, faith without good deeds is dead.

The Father raises the dead and gives them life. In the same way, the Son gives life to anyone he wants to.

But we had to celebrate and be glad. This brother of yours was dead. And now he is alive again. He was lost. And now he is found.’ ”

Even when I suffer, I am comforted because you promised to keep me alive.

Let those who are evil stop doing evil things. And let them quit thinking evil thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord. The Lord will show them his tender love. Let them turn to our God. He is always ready to forgive.

That is why it is said,“ Wake up, sleeper. Rise from the dead. Then Christ will shine on you.”

How foolish! What you plant doesn’t come to life unless it dies.

This son of mine was dead. And now he is alive again. He was lost. And now he is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

Dear children, I’m writing to you because your sins have been forgiven. They have been forgiven because of what Jesus has done.

“ My friends, here is what I want you to know. I announce to you that your sins can be forgiven because of what Jesus has done.Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin. Moses’ law could not make you right in God’s eyes.

They will not need to teach their neighbor anymore. And they will not need to teach one another anymore. They will not need to say,‘ Know the Lord.’ That’s because everyone will know me. From the least important of them to the most important, all of them will know me,” announces the Lord.“ I will forgive their evil ways. I will not remember their sins anymore.”

The Holy Spirit gives life. The body means nothing at all. The words I have spoken to you are full of the Spirit. They give life.

So let us move beyond the simple teachings about Christ. Let us grow up as believers. Let us not start all over again with the basic teachings. They taught us that we need to turn away from doing things that lead to death. They taught us that we must have faith in God.

“ Come. Let us settle this matter,” says the Lord.“ Even though your sins are bright red, they will be as white as snow. Even though they are deep red, they will be white like wool.

The power of the Lord came on me. His Spirit brought me away from my home. He put me down in the middle of a valley. It was full of bones.He led me back and forth among them. I saw a huge number of bones in the valley. The bones were very dry.The Lord asked me,“ Son of man, can these bones live?” I said,“ Lord and King, you are the only one who knows.”Then he said to me,“ Prophesy to these bones. Tell them,‘ Dry bones, listen to the Lord’ s message.The Lord and King speaks to you. He says,“ I will put breath in you. Then you will come to life again.I will attach tendons to you. I will put flesh on you. I will cover you with skin. So I will put breath in you. And you will come to life again. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”So I prophesied just as the Lord commanded me to. As I was prophesying, I heard a noise. It was a rattling sound. The bones came together. One bone connected itself to another.I saw tendons and flesh appear on them. Skin covered them. But there was no breath in them.Then the Lord said to me,“ Prophesy to the breath. Prophesy, son of man. Tell it,‘ The Lord and King says,“ Breath, come from all four directions. Go into these people who have been killed. Then they can live.” ’ ”So I prophesied just as he commanded me to. And breath entered them. Then they came to life again. They stood up on their feet. They were like a huge army.

Jesus said to him,“ Let dead people bury their own dead. You go and tell others about God’s kingdom.”

God gives life to everything. Christ Jesus told the truth when he was a witness in front of Pontius Pilate. In the sight of God and Christ, I give you a command.

It is written,“ I have made you a father of many nations.”( Genesis 17:5) God considers Abraham to be our father. The God that Abraham believed in gives life to the dead. Abraham’s God also creates things that did not exist before.

You foolish person! Do you want proof that faith without good deeds is useless?

This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds. I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God. And they will be my people.People will not teach their neighbor anymore. They will not say to one another,‘ Know the Lord.’ That’s because everyone will know me. From the least important to the most important, all of them will know me.I will forgive their evil ways. I will not remember their sins anymore.”( Jeremiah 31:31–34)

But a widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she is still living.

It is the same with faith. If it doesn’t cause us to do something, it’s dead.

Blessed is the person whose lawless acts are forgiven. Their sins have been taken away.
