For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

蓋我欲爾知、我為爾與在老底嘉、及凡未覿我面者、如何盡力、

我欲爾知我為爾及老底嘉人、與未嘗覿面者、多竭心思、

我願爾知我為爾曹及老底嘉人、與凡未見我面者、如何心切、

爾等應知予為爾等及老底嘉同人之故、且為未曾睹面者之故、如何勞心焦思、而為之努力奮鬥也。予之為此、亦欲有以鼓勵同人之心、

I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally.

I want you to know how hard I am working for you. I’m concerned for those who are in Laodicea. I’m also concerned for everyone who has not met me in person.

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face,

I want you to know how much I have agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other believers who have never met me personally.

For I want you to know how greatly I am struggling for you, for those in Laodicea, and for all who have not seen me in person.

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have in your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face,

For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,

For I would have you know how greatly I strive for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you, for those in Laodicea, and for all who have not seen me in person.

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and[ for] them at Laodicea, and[ for] as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always striving for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.For I testify about him that he has great zeal for you, and for those in Laodicea, and for those in Hierapolis.

having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

saying,“ What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,

In the womb he took his brother by the heel; and in his manhood he contended with God.Indeed, he struggled with the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication to him. He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us,

sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,

My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—

For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.

“ Now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I went about preaching God’s Kingdom, will see my face no more.

but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.

“ To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write:“ The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of God’s creation, says these things:“ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.Because you say,‘ I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”

Jacob was left alone, and wrestled with a man there until the breaking of the day.When he saw that he didn’t prevail against him, the man touched the hollow of his thigh, and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained as he wrestled.The man said,“ Let me go, for the day breaks.” Jacob said,“ I won’t let you go unless you bless me.”He said to him,“ What is your name?” He said,“ Jacob”.He said,“ Your name will no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have fought with God and with men, and have prevailed.”Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” He said,“ Why is it that you ask what my name is?” He blessed him there.Jacob called the name of the place Peniel; for he said,“ I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,

Rachel said,“ I have wrestled with my sister with mighty wrestlings, and have prevailed.” She named him Naphtali.

Greet the brothers who are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the assembly that is in his house.When this letter has been read among you, cause it to be read also in the assembly of the Laodiceans, and that you also read the letter from Laodicea.
