For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you, and for those in Laodicea, and for those who have not met me face to face.

我希望你们知道，我为你们和那些在劳迪西亚的人，以及一切没有亲自看到我面的人，有多么大的争战，

我希望你們知道，我為你們和那些在勞迪西亞的人，以及一切沒有親自看到我面的人，有多麼大的爭戰，

蓋我欲爾知、我為爾與在老底嘉、及凡未覿我面者、如何盡力、

我欲爾知我為爾及老底嘉人、與未嘗覿面者、多竭心思、

我願爾知我為爾曹及老底嘉人、與凡未見我面者、如何心切、

爾等應知予為爾等及老底嘉同人之故、且為未曾睹面者之故、如何勞心焦思、而為之努力奮鬥也。予之為此、亦欲有以鼓勵同人之心、

I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally.

I want you to know how hard I am working for you. I’m concerned for those who are in Laodicea. I’m also concerned for everyone who has not met me in person.

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face,

I want you to know how much I have agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other believers who have never met me personally.

For I want you to know how greatly I am struggling for you, for those in Laodicea, and for all who have not seen me in person.

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have in your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face,

For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,

For I would have you know how greatly I strive for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you, for those in Laodicea, and for all who have not seen me in person.

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and[ for] them at Laodicea, and[ for] as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

Toward this goal I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully works in me.

Epaphras, who is one of you and a slave of Christ, greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.For I can testify that he has worked hard for you and for those in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

since you are encountering the same conflict that you saw me face and now hear that I am facing.

saying:“ Write in a book what you see and send it to the seven churches– to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my physical body– for the sake of his body, the church– what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ.

In the womb he attacked his brother; in his manly vigor he struggled with God.He struggled with an angel and prevailed; he wept and begged for his favor. He found God at Bethel, and there he spoke with him!

especially saddened by what he had said, that they were not going to see him again. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,

My children– I am again undergoing birth pains until Christ is formed in you!

For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your morale and the firmness of your faith in Christ.

And in his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.]

“ And now I know that none of you among whom I went around proclaiming the kingdom will see me again.

But although we suffered earlier and were mistreated in Philippi, as you know, we had the courage in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in spite of much opposition.

“ To the angel of the church in Laodicea write the following:“ This is the solemn pronouncement of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the originator of God’s creation:‘ I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot!So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth!Because you say,“ I am rich and have acquired great wealth, and need nothing,” but do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked,take my advice and buy gold from me refined by fire so you can become rich! Buy from me white clothing so you can be clothed and your shameful nakedness will not be exposed, and buy eye salve to put on your eyes so you can see!All those I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent!Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home and share a meal with him, and he with me.I will grant the one who conquers permission to sit with me on my throne, just as I too conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

So Jacob was left alone. Then a man wrestled with him until daybreak.When the man saw that he could not defeat Jacob, he struck the socket of his hip so the socket of Jacob’s hip was dislocated while he wrestled with him.Then the man said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.”“ I will not let you go,” Jacob replied,“ unless you bless me.”The man asked him,“ What is your name?” He answered,“ Jacob.”“ No longer will your name be Jacob,” the man told him,“ but Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have prevailed.”Then Jacob asked,“ Please tell me your name.”“ Why do you ask my name?” the man replied. Then he blessed Jacob there.So Jacob named the place Peniel, explaining,“ Certainly I have seen God face to face and have survived.”

During his earthly life Christ offered both requests and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his devotion.

Then Rachel said,“ I have fought a desperate struggle with my sister, but I have won.” So she named him Naphtali.

Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters who are in Laodicea and to Nympha and the church that meets in her house.And after you have read this letter, have it read to the church of Laodicea. In turn, read the letter from Laodicea as well.
