是以我儕自聞之之時、為爾祈禱不已、求主俾爾得諸睿智靈慧、盡知其旨、

吾人逖聽之餘、即不輟為爾祈求、賜爾靈慧妙識、俾能切身體認天主弘旨、臻於圓融洞澈之地；

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,

That’s why we have not stopped praying for you. We have been praying for you since the day we heard about you. We keep asking God to fill you with the knowledge of what he wants. We pray he will give you the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives.

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

至於從天上來的智慧，首先是純潔的，其次是和平的，溫柔的，謙遜的，滿有恩慈和善果，沒有偏袒，沒有虛偽。

你們要把握時機，用智慧與外人來往。

你們中間若有人缺少智慧，就當向那厚賜眾人，而且不斥責人的神祈求，他就必得著。

我所禱告的，是要你們的愛心，在充足的知識和各樣的見識上，多而又多，使你們可以辨別是非，成為真誠無可指摘的人，直到基督的日子，靠著耶穌基督結滿了公義的果子，使神得著榮耀和讚美。

因為這是神的旨意，要藉著你們的善行，塞住糊塗無知人的口。

在一切善事上成全你們，好使你們遵行他的旨意；又藉著耶穌基督在我們裡面，行他所喜悅的事。願榮耀歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們。

因此，我聽到你們在主耶穌裡的信心，和對眾聖徒的愛心，就不住地為你們獻上感謝。我禱告的時候，常常提到你們，求我們主耶穌基督的神，榮耀的父，賜給你們智慧和啟示的靈，使你們充分地認識他，並且使你們心靈的眼睛明亮，可以知道他的呼召有怎樣的盼望；他基業的榮耀，在聖徒中是多麼的豐盛；神照著他強大的力量，向我們信他的人顯出的能力，是何等的浩大。這力量運行在基督身上，使他從死人中復活，並且在天上坐在自己的右邊，

至於我，我決不停止為你們禱告，以致得罪耶和華；我要把善道正路教導你們。

求你教我遵行你的旨意，因為你是我的神；願你至善的靈引導我到平坦的地。

因此，我們常常為你們禱告，願我們的神看你們是配得上所蒙的召，又用大能成就你們所羨慕的一切良善和信心的工作，

不住禱告，

你們還需要忍耐，好使你們行完了神的旨意，可以領受所應許的。

不要模仿這個世代，倒要藉著心意的更新而改變過來，使你們可以察驗出甚麼是神的旨意，就是察驗出甚麼是美好的、蒙他悅納的和完全的事。

因此，我在父面前屈膝，（天上地上所有的家族都是由他命名的，）求他按著他榮耀的豐盛，藉著他的靈，用大能使你們內在的人剛強起來，使基督藉著你們的信，住在你們心裡，使你們既然在愛中扎根建基，就能和眾聖徒一同領悟基督的愛是多麼的長闊高深，並且知道他的愛是超過人所能理解的，使你們被充滿，得著神的一切豐盛。

我們為你們祈禱的時候，常常感謝神我們主耶穌基督的父，因為聽見你們在基督耶穌裡的信心，和對眾聖徒的愛心。

你們要讓基督的道豐豐富富地住在你們心裡，以各樣的智慧，彼此教導，互相勸戒，用詩章、聖詩、靈歌，懷著感恩的心歌頌神。

在我們的父神面前，不住地記念你們信心的工作，愛心的勞苦和因盼望我們主耶穌基督而有的堅忍。

這世界和世上的私慾都要漸漸過去，但那遵行神旨意的卻存到永遠。

這福音傳到你們那裡，也傳到全世界；你們聽了福音，因著真理確實認識了神的恩典之後，這福音就在你們中間不斷地結果和增長，在全世界也是一樣。

這恩典是他用各樣的智慧和聰明，充充足足地賜給我們的；

我聽見你對主耶穌和眾聖徒有愛心和信心，我每逢禱告提到你的時候，就常常感謝我的神。

每次為你們大家祈求的時候，總是歡歡喜喜地祈求。

以巴弗問候你們，他是你們那裡的人，是基督耶穌的僕人；他禱告的時候，常常竭力為你們祈求，好使你們在神的一切旨意中完全站穩，滿有堅定的信念。

因此，不要作糊塗人，要明白甚麼是主的旨意。

作事不要只作給人看，像那些討人歡心的一樣，卻要像基督的僕人，從心裡遵行神的旨意，

好叫你們不再隨從人的私慾，只順從神的旨意，在世上度餘下的光陰。

人若願意遵行神的旨意，就會知道這教訓是出於神，還是我憑著自己的意思說的。

你們要察驗甚麼是主所喜悅的。

我比我所有的老師明智，因為我默想你的法度。

我感謝神，就是我像我祖先一樣，以清潔的良心所事奉的神，在禱告中晝夜不斷地記念你；一想起你流的眼淚，我就渴望見你，好叫我滿有喜樂。

首先，我靠著耶穌基督，為你們大家感謝我的神，因為你們的信心傳遍天下。我在傳揚他兒子福音的事上，用心靈事奉的神，可以作證我是怎樣不斷地記念你們，常常在禱告中懇切祈求，也許我可以照著他的旨意，終於能夠順利地到你們那裡去。

因為你們在他裡面凡事都富足，很有口才，知識豐富，

彼得就這樣被拘留在監裡；但教會卻為他迫切地祈求神。
