Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

现在我为你们受苦，倒觉欢乐；并且为基督的身体，就是为教会，要在我肉身上补满基督患难的缺欠。

现在我为你们受苦，倒很快乐；并且为基督的身体，就是为教会，我要在自己的肉身上补满基督未尽的苦难。

故予樂為爾等遭受苦難、且吾身所遭受者、實足以補基督苦難之所缺也。夫教會者、基督之體也；予既為教會之公僕、則為此體親嘗其苦難、

Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

I am happy because of what I am suffering for you. My suffering joins with and continues the sufferings of Christ. I suffer for his body, which is the church.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

And not only[ so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Great[ is] my boldness of speech toward you, great[ is] my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.And whether we be afflicted,[ it is] for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted,[ it is] for your consolation and salvation.And our hope of you[ is] stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so[ shall ye be] also of the consolation.For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all[ things] he might have the preeminence.

Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer,[ even] unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Blessed are ye, when[ men] shall revile you, and persecute[ you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great[ is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as a fool) I[ am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.Of the Jews five times received I forty[ stripes] save one.Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;[ In] journeyings often,[ in] perils of waters,[ in] perils of robbers,[ in] perils by[ mine own] countrymen,[ in] perils by the heathen,[ in] perils in the city,[ in] perils in the wilderness,[ in] perils in the sea,[ in] perils among false brethren;In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

[ We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed;[ we are] perplexed, but not in despair;Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
