Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for his body, that is, the church.

Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

I am happy because of what I am suffering for you. My suffering joins with and continues the sufferings of Christ. I suffer for his body, which is the church.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am supplementing what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of His body, which is the church.

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my physical body– for the sake of his body, the church– what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

So don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me his prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God.

I am very frank with you; I have great pride in you. I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in all our afflictions.

My goal is to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,

For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer.And our hope for you is firm, because we know that as you share in the sufferings, so you will also share in the comfort.We don’t want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction that took place in Asia. We were completely overwhelmed— beyond our strength— so that we even despaired of life itself.

He is also the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.

So, then, I ask you not to be discouraged over my afflictions on your behalf, for they are your glory.

for which I suffer to the point of being bound like a criminal. But the word of God is not bound.This is why I endure all things for the elect: so that they also may obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,

“ You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me.Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be treated shamefully on behalf of the Name.

But even if I am poured out as a drink offering on the sacrificial service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.In the same way you should also be glad and rejoice with me.

For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—

Are they servants of Christ? I’m talking like a madman— I’m a better one: with far more labors, many more imprisonments, far worse beatings, many times near death.Five times I received the forty lashes minus one from the Jews.Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I received a stoning. Three times I was shipwrecked. I have spent a night and a day in the open sea.On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own people, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, and dangers among false brothers;toil and hardship, many sleepless nights, hunger and thirst, often without food, cold, and without clothing.

We are afflicted in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be displayed in our body.For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’s sake, so that Jesus’s life may also be displayed in our mortal flesh.So then, death is at work in us, but life in you.

which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.
