『凡屬以色列家的人、或是你們中間寄居的外僑、喫任何血、我總要向那喫血的人板着臉，把他從他的族人中剪除掉。

先前永恆主怎樣喜悅你們，使你們得好處，人數增多，將來永恆主也必怎樣喜悅使你們滅亡、使你們消滅；你們必從所要進去取得的土地上被扯走。永恆主必使你分散於萬族之民中，從地這邊到地那邊；在那裏你必事奉別的神、是你和你列祖素來不認識的、木頭石頭的神。在這些國中、你不能得安然，也沒有給你腳掌停息的地方；永恆主卻要使你在那裏心中發顫，眼目失明，精神消損。

圍困這城的日子滿了，你要將三分之一在城中用燄火焚燒，將三分之一在城的四圍用刀剁碎，將三分之一給風吹散；我還要拔刀追趕他們。

永恆主的眼目在全地上看來看去；凡以純全之心向他的人、他就顯大權能去幫助他。在這一點上你幹了糊塗事了！從今以後、你總有戰事了。』

我必注目好待他們，領他們返回這地；建立他們，必不傾覆；栽植他們，必不拔除。

永恆主的眼向着義人，他的耳側向他們的呼救。永恆主向行壞事的人板着臉，他必將他們被記念的遺跡從地上都剪除掉。

『你去告訴古實人以伯米勒說：「萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：看吧，我必使我所說降禍不降福的話臨到這城，到那日子就會實現在你面前。

至於你們剩下的人呢、他們在仇敵之地時、我必使怯懦餒弱之氣進他們的心；飄蕩落葉的響聲也會追趕他們；他們必逃跑、像人逃避刀劍；沒有人追趕，他們也跌倒。沒有人追趕、他們也彼此相撞而跌倒，像在刀劍之前；在仇敵面前、你們也站立不住。你們必在外國中滅亡；仇敵之地必吞滅你們。你們剩下的人必因自己的罪愆、而在仇敵之地日見消削，也必因他們的祖宗的罪愆而像他們日見消削。

永恆主發神諭說；將來此地全部的人其中兩分必被剪除而死去，只有三分之一得以存留。我必使這三分之一經過火，我必熬煉他們，像人熬煉銀子；試煉他們，像試煉金子。他們就必呼求我的名，我就應他們。我要說：「他們是我的子民」；他們個個都要說：「永恆主是我的上帝。」
