“以色列家的任何人，或是在你们中间寄居的外人，如果吃了任何血，我必向那吃血的人变脸，把他从自己的族人中剪除。

先前耶和华怎样喜欢使你们得好处，使你们人数众多，将来也必怎样喜欢把你们灭亡，把你们消灭；你们必从要进去得为业的地上被拔除。耶和华必使你分散在万民中，从地的这边到地的那边；在那里你要事奉你和你的列祖不认识的别的神，就是木头和石头做的神。在那些国中，你必不得安息，也没有脚掌歇息的地方；耶和华却必使你在那里心中发颤，眼目憔悴，精神颓废。

围困这城的日子满了，你要拿须发的三分之一在城中用火烧掉，又拿三分之一在城的周围用刀剁碎，三分之一撒在风中，我还要拔刀追赶它们。

耶和华的眼目遍察全地，一心归向他的，他必以大能扶助他们；你作这事太愚昧了。从今以后，你必常有战争。”

我必关注他们，眷顾他们，领他们归回这地。我必建立他们，必不拆毁；我必栽植他们，必不拔除。

至于你们剩下的人，我必使他们在仇敌之地胆战心惊；风吹落叶也会吓跑他们；他们必逃跑，好像逃避刀剑一样；虽然无人追赶，他们却跌倒。虽然无人追赶，他们却像面临刀剑，彼此撞跌；你们在仇敌面前，不能站立得住。你们要在万国中灭亡；仇敌之地必吞灭你们。你们剩下的人，必因自己的罪孽在仇敌之地消灭，也因犯了祖先的罪孽日渐衰弱。

全地的人必有三分之二被除灭，只有三分之一存留下来。（这是耶和华的宣告。）我必使这三分之一经火试炼。我要炼净他们，像炼净银子一样；我要试炼他们，像试炼金子一样。他们必呼求我的名，我必应允他们。我要说：‘他们是我的子民。’他们也要说：‘耶和华是我们的神。’”
