In that day,” says the sovereign LORD,“ I will make the sun set at noon, and make the earth dark in the middle of the day.

主天主曰、當是日我將使日沒於午間、將於白晝使地晦冥、

“ In that day,” declares the Sovereign Lord,“ I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight.

The Lord and King announces,“ At that time I will make the sun go down at noon. The earth will become dark in the middle of the day.

And in that day— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— I will make the sun go down at noon; I will darken the land in the daytime.

And it will come about on that day,” declares the Lord God,“ That I will make the sun go down at noon, And make the earth dark in broad daylight.

“ And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord GOD,“ That I will make the sun go down at noon, And I will darken the earth in broad daylight;

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord Jehovah, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

And in that day— this is the declaration of the Lord God— I will make the sun go down at noon; I will darken the land in the daytime.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

It will happen in that day,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

Now when it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.

Now from noon until three, darkness came over all the land.

The mother who had seven children will grow faint. All the breath will go out of her. Her pride and joy will be taken from her in the prime of their life. It will seem as if the sun had set while it was still day. She will suffer shame and humiliation. I will cause any of them who are still left alive to be killed in war by the onslaughts of their enemies,” says the LORD.

Therefore night will fall, and you will receive no visions; it will grow dark, and you will no longer be able to read the omens. The sun will set on these prophets, and the daylight will turn to darkness over their heads.

“ Immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.

For this reason deliverance is far from us and salvation does not reach us. We wait for light, but see only darkness; we wait for a bright light, but live in deep darkness.We grope along the wall like the blind, we grope like those who cannot see; we stumble at noontime as if it were evening. Though others are strong, we are like dead men.

It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,

( But there is one who made the constellations Pleiades and Orion; he can turn the darkness into morning and daylight into night. He summons the water of the seas and pours it out on the earth’s surface. The LORD is his name!

Indeed the stars in the sky and their constellations no longer give out their light; the sun is darkened as soon as it rises, and the moon does not shine.

They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope about in the noontime as if it were night.

For here he is! He formed the mountains and created the wind. He reveals his plans to men. He turns the dawn into darkness and marches on the heights of the earth. The LORD, the God who commands armies, is his name!”

Then I looked when the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and a huge earthquake took place; the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the full moon became blood red;

Then the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. And there was no light for a third of the day and for a third of the night likewise.

You will be shocked and amazed! You are totally blind! They are drunk, but not because of wine; they stagger, but not because of beer.For the LORD has poured out on you a strong urge to sleep deeply. He has shut your eyes( the prophets), and covered your heads( the seers).

The LORD said to Moses,“ Extend your hand toward heaven so that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness so thick it can be felt.”So Moses extended his hand toward heaven, and there was absolute darkness throughout the land of Egypt for three days.No one could see another person, and no one could rise from his place for three days. But the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.
