The earth will tremble for your deeds, and everyone will mourn. The ground will rise like the Nile River at floodtime; it will heave up, then sink again.

地岂不因这事震动？其上的居民不也悲哀吗？地必全然像尼罗河涨起，如同埃及河涌上落下。”

地岂不因这事震动？其中的居民岂不悲哀吗？全地必如尼罗河涨起，如埃及的尼罗河涌起退落。

地岂不因这事震动？其中的居民岂不悲哀吗？全地必如尼罗河涨起，如埃及的尼罗河涌起退落。

这片土地要因此而震动，那里的人都要悲哀。大地要像尼罗河一样涨起，如埃及的河流翻腾退落。”

“这地不应为此震动，所有住在地上的不应悲哀吗？这地必像尼罗河高涨翻腾，像埃及的大河退落。

地豈不因這事震動？其上的居民不也悲哀嗎？地必全然像尼羅河漲起，如同埃及河湧上落下。

地豈不因這事震動？其中的居民豈不悲哀嗎？全地必如尼羅河漲起，如埃及的尼羅河湧起退落。

地豈不因這事震動？其中的居民豈不悲哀嗎？全地必如尼羅河漲起，如埃及的尼羅河湧起退落。

這片土地要因此而震動，那裡的人都要悲哀。大地要像尼羅河一樣漲起，如埃及的河流翻騰退落。」

“這地不應為此震動，所有住在地上的不應悲哀嗎？這地必像尼羅河高漲翻騰，像埃及的大河退落。

地哪能不因這事而震動，而上頭的居民不悲哀呢？地哪能不全然漲起像尼羅河，而湧上又退落如埃及河呢？』

斯地豈不因此而震動、居其中者豈不悲哀乎、斯地將墳起、如大河之漲、搖撼而復下陷、如埃及之河焉、

地必震動、民必哀號、土壤墳起、忽復下陷、若埃及之河、漲而復退。

緣此事、地不當震動乎、其中居民、不當哀痛乎、全地不當墳起、如河之翻騰乎、不當攪起復又下陷、如伊及之河漲而復退乎、

“ Will not the land tremble for this, and all who live in it mourn? The whole land will rise like the Nile; it will be stirred up and then sink like the river of Egypt.

“ The land will tremble because of what will happen. Everyone who lives in it will mourn. So the whole land will rise like the Nile River. It will be stirred up. Then it will settle back down again like that river in Egypt.”

Shall not the land tremble on this account, and everyone mourn who dwells in it, and all of it rise like the Nile, and be tossed about and sink again, like the Nile of Egypt?”

Because of this, won’t the land quake and all who dwell in it mourn? All of it will rise like the Nile; it will surge and then subside like the Nile in Egypt.

Because of this will the land not quake, And everyone who lives in it mourn? Indeed, all of it will rise up like the Nile, And it will be tossed about And subside like the Nile of Egypt.

Shall the land not tremble for this, And everyone mourn who dwells in it? All of it shall swell like the River, Heave and subside Like the River of Egypt.

Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? yea, it shall rise up wholly like the River; and it shall be troubled and sink again, like the River of Egypt.

Because of this, won’t the land quake and all who dwell in it mourn? All of it will rise like the Nile; it will surge and then subside like the Nile in Egypt.

Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as[ by] the flood of Egypt.

Because of this the earth will quake, and all who live in it will mourn. The whole earth will rise like the River Nile, it will surge upward and then grow calm, like the Nile in Egypt.

Won’t the land tremble for this, and everyone mourn who dwells in it? Yes, it will rise up wholly like the River; and it will be stirred up and sink again, like the River of Egypt.

The Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, touches the land and it melts, and all its people mourn. The ground rises like the Nile River at floodtime, and then it sinks again.

That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away. Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing.

It is the Egyptian army, overflowing all the land, boasting that it will cover the earth like a flood, destroying cities and their people.

Then the earth quaked and trembled. The foundations of the mountains shook; they quaked because of his anger.

That is why the Lord’s anger burns against his people, and why he has raised his fist to crush them. The mountains tremble, and the corpses of his people litter the streets like garbage. But even then the Lord’s anger is not satisfied. His fist is still poised to strike!

In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed.Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence.

How long must this land mourn? Even the grass in the fields has withered. The wild animals and birds have disappeared because of the evil in the land. For the people have said,“ The Lord doesn’t see what’s ahead for us!”

And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

The people of Samaria tremble in fear for their calf idol at Beth aven, and they mourn for it. Though its priests rejoice over it, its glory will be stripped away.

Therefore, the Lord will overwhelm them with a mighty flood from the Euphrates River— the king of Assyria and all his glory. This flood will overflow all its channelsand sweep into Judah until it is chin deep. It will spread its wings, submerging your land from one end to the other, O Immanuel.

Look! The Lord is coming! He leaves his throne in heaven and tramples the heights of the earth.The mountains melt beneath his feet and flow into the valleys like wax in a fire, like water pouring down a hill.And why is this happening? Because of the rebellion of Israel— yes, the sins of the whole nation. Who is to blame for Israel’s rebellion? Samaria, its capital city! Where is the center of idolatry in Judah? In Jerusalem, its capital!

The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away.The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away?Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.

“ After this period of sixty two sets of seven, the Anointed One will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end.

You have shaken our land and split it open. Seal the cracks, for the land trembles.You have been very hard on us, making us drink wine that sent us reeling.

“ For this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: In just a little while I will again shake the heavens and the earth, the oceans and the dry land.I will shake all the nations, and the treasures of all the nations will be brought to this Temple. I will fill this place with glory, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Pestilence marches before him; plague follows close behind.When he stops, the earth shakes. When he looks, the nations tremble. He shatters the everlasting mountains and levels the eternal hills. He is the Eternal One!I see the people of Cushan in distress, and the nation of Midian trembling in terror.Was it in anger, Lord, that you struck the rivers and parted the sea? Were you displeased with them? No, you were sending your chariots of salvation!

I looked at the mountains and hills, and they trembled and shook.I looked, and all the people were gone. All the birds of the sky had flown away.I looked, and the fertile fields had become a wilderness. The towns lay in ruins, crushed by the Lord’s fierce anger.

The earth has broken up. It has utterly collapsed; it is violently shaken.The earth staggers like a drunk. It trembles like a tent in a storm. It falls and will not rise again, for the guilt of its rebellion is very heavy.

I will turn your celebrations into times of mourning and your singing into weeping. You will wear funeral clothes and shave your heads to show your sorrow— as if your only son had died. How very bitter that day will be!
