他們當中有人潛入別人家裏，操縱無知的婦女；這些婦女被罪惡壓制，被各樣的私慾引誘，雖然常常學習，終久無法達到明白真理的地步。

那又怎麼說呢？以色列人所尋求的，他們沒有得着。但是蒙揀選的人得着了，其餘的人卻成了頑梗不化的。如經上所記：「上帝給他們昏沉的靈，眼睛看不見，耳朵聽不到，直到今日。」大衛也說：「願他們的宴席變為羅網，變為陷阱，變為絆腳石，作他們的報應。願他們的眼睛昏花，看不見；願你時常彎下他們的腰。」

但以色列人追求律法的義，反而達不到律法的義。這是甚麼緣故呢？是因為他們不憑着信心，而是憑着行為，他們正跌在那絆腳石上。就如經上所記：「我在錫安放一塊絆腳的石頭，使人跌倒的磐石；信靠他的人必不蒙羞。」

傲慢人枉尋智慧；聰明人易得知識。

不跟我一起的，就是反對我；不與我一起收聚的，就是在拆散。

那時，耶穌說：「父啊，天地的主，我感謝你！因為你把這些事向聰明智慧的人隱藏起來，而向嬰孩啟示出來。父啊，是的，因為你的美意本是如此。一切都是我父交給我的；除了父，沒有人知道子；除了子和子所願意啟示的人，沒有人知道父。

但以理啊，你要隱藏這話，封閉這書，直到末時。必有許多人往來奔跑，知識就必增長。」

當你們獻上供物，使你們兒子經火的時候，你們仍用各樣的偶像玷污自己，直到今日。以色列家啊，我豈能讓你們求問呢？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是為求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問。
