猶大王亞撒利雅三十八年、耶羅波安的兒子撒迦利雅在撒瑪利亞登極來管理以色列；他作王有六個月。他行永恆主所看為壞的事，像他列祖所行的，不離開尼八的兒子耶羅波安的罪、耶羅波安使以色列人犯的那罪。雅比人沙龍陰謀反叛了他，在以伯蓮擊打他，弒死他，接替他作王。

惡人為甚麼大踏步進你的聖地？而我們的敵人竟踐踏你的聖所呢？

我必破毁你們的邱壇，砍下你們的香壇，把你們的屍身扔在你們的偶像的屍身上；我的心必厭棄你們。我要使你們的城市荒廢，使你們各地的聖所荒涼；我不聞你們怡神之香氣。

以撒從那裏上別是巴。那一夜裏、永恆主向他顯現說：『我是你父親亞伯拉罕的上帝；你不要怕，因為是我與你同在；我必賜福與你，使你的後裔增多，都是為了我僕人亞伯拉罕的緣故。』以撒就在那裏築了一座壇，呼求永恆主的名，在那裏搭帳棚；以撒的僕人也在那裏開掘了一口井。

伯亞文的邱壇必被毁壞，以色列罪惡之淵藪必遭破毁；荊條和蒺藜必長起在他們的祭壇上。他們必對大山說：「遮蓋我們哦！」必對小山說：「倒在我們身上哦！」
