And the Lord said to me,“ Amos, what do you see?” And I said,“ A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,“ Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass by them;

And the Lord asked me,“ What do you see, Amos?”“ A plumb line,” I replied. Then the Lord said,“ Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.

The LORD said to me,“ What do you see, Amos?” I said,“ Tin.” The sovereign One then said,“ Look, I am about to place tin among my people Israel. I will no longer overlook their sin.

Yahweh said to me,“ Amos, what do you see?” I said,“ A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,“ Behold, I will set a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.

And he said,“ Amos, what do you see?” And I said,“ A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me,“ The end has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass by them.

The Lord determined to lay in ruins the wall of the daughter of Zion; he stretched out the measuring line; he did not restrain his hand from destroying; he caused rampart and wall to lament; they languished together.

“ And you, O son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.Now the end is upon you, and I will send my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations.And my eye will not spare you, nor will I have pity, but I will punish you for your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the Lord.“ Thus says the Lord God: Disaster after disaster! Behold, it comes.An end has come; the end has come; it has awakened against you. Behold, it comes.Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land. The time has come; the day is near, a day of tumult, and not of joyful shouting on the mountains.Now I will soon pour out my wrath upon you, and spend my anger against you, and judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations.And my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the Lord, who strikes.

You have rejected me, declares the Lord; you keep going backward, so I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you— I am weary of relenting.

And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plumb line; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the shelter.”

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria, and the plumb line of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

But with an overflowing flood he will make a complete end of the adversaries, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.What do you plot against the Lord? He will make a complete end; trouble will not rise up a second time.

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said,“ I see an almond branch.”Then the Lord said to me,“ You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”The word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying,“ What do you see?” And I said,“ I see a boiling pot, facing away from the north.”

And he said to me,“ What do you see?” I answered,“ I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.”

Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love.
