耶和华对我说：“阿摩司，你看见什么？”我回答：“我看见准绳。”主又说：“看哪！我把准绳放在我民以色列中间，必不再放过他们。

And the Lord asked me,“ What do you see, Amos?”“ A plumb line,” I replied. Then the Lord said,“ Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.

And the Lord said to me,“ Amos, what do you see?” I answered,“ A plumb line.” And the Lord replied,“ I will test my people with this plumb line. I will no longer ignore all their sins.

And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb- line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb- line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more;

The LORD said to me,“ What do you see, Amos?” I said,“ Tin.” The sovereign One then said,“ Look, I am about to place tin among my people Israel. I will no longer overlook their sin.

Yahweh said to me,“ Amos, what do you see?” I said,“ A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,“ Behold, I will set a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.

耶和华说：“阿摩司，你看见什么？”我回答：“一篮夏天的果子。”他跟着对我说：“我民以色列的结局到了，我不再放过他们。

耶和华定意要拆毁锡安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的城墙；他拉了准绳，决不停手，务要把它吞灭。他使堡垒和城墙都悲哀，一同受痛苦。

“人子啊！主耶和华对以色列地这样说：‘终局到了！终局临到这地的四境了！现在终局已经临到你了。我要发怒攻击你，按着你的行为审判你，照着你一切可憎的事报应你。我的眼必不顾惜你，我也不怜恤你，我却要按着你的行为，照着你中间可憎的事报应你，你们就知道我是耶和华。’主耶和华这样说：‘看哪，灾祸，独特的灾祸，临到了！终局到了，终局临到了，它已经起来跟你作对。看哪，它临到了！这地的居民哪，灾害临到你了！时候到了，日子近了，是混乱喧嚷的日子，不是山上欢呼的日子。现在我快要把我的烈怒倒在你身上，向你完全发尽我的怒气。我要按着你的行为审判你，照着你一切可憎的事报应你。我的眼必不顾惜，我也不怜恤。我却要按着你的行为，照着你中间可憎的事报应你，你们就知道击打你们的是我耶和华。

你离弃了我，你转身背着我；因此我要伸手攻击你，毁灭你，我不会再回心转意。”这是耶和华的宣告。

我要以公平为准绳，以公义为线铊；冰雹必把谎言的遮蔽冲去，大水必漫过庇护所。”

我要用量度撒玛利亚的准绳和测试亚哈家的铅锤，测量耶路撒冷；我要抹净耶路撒冷，像人抹净盘子一样。抹完了，就把盘子翻转过来。

但他必用泛滥的洪水，尽行毁灭尼尼微之地，把他的仇敌赶入黑暗之中。尼尼微人哪，你们对耶和华还有什么企图？他必尽行毁灭；患难必不再次来临。

耶和华的话又临到我，说：“耶利米，你看见什么？”我说：“我看见一根杏树枝子。”耶和华对我说：“你看得不错，因为我要留意使我的话成就。”耶和华的话再次临到我，说：“你看见什么？”我说：“我看见一个沸腾的锅，锅口从北面向南倾侧。”

他问我：“你看见什么？”我回答：“我看见一卷飞行的书卷，长十公尺，宽五公尺。”

有何神像你，赦免罪孽，不追究产业之余民的过犯呢？他不永远怀怒，因为他喜爱怜悯。
