The LORD relented concerning this.“ This will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.

耶和華回意曰、亦免此災、耶和華言之矣、○

耶和華乃回厥志、曰、此災可免、

主天主乃回厥志曰、此災亦可免、

So the Lord relented.“ This will not happen either,” the Sovereign Lord said.

So the Lord had pity on them.“ I will let them continue for now,” the Lord and King said.

The Lord relented concerning this:“ This also shall not be,” said the Lord God.

Then the Lord relented from this plan, too.“ I will not do that either,” said the Sovereign Lord.

The Lord relented of this.“ This too shall not be,” said the Lord God.

So the Lord relented concerning this.“ This also shall not be,” said the Lord GOD.

Jehovah repented concerning this: this also shall not be, saith the Lord Jehovah.

The Lord relented concerning this.“ This will not happen either,” said the Lord God.

The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.

The LORD decided not to do this. The sovereign LORD said,“ This will not happen either.”

Yahweh relented concerning this.“ This also shall not be,” says the Lord Yahweh.

So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, and he became weary of Israel’s misery.

LORD— how long? Turn and have compassion on your servants.

For the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.

He prayed to the LORD,“ Please, LORD, isn’t this what I said while I was still in my own country? That’s why I fled toward Tarshish in the first place. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and one who relents from sending disaster.

Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for the Israelites, the LORD was with him and saved the people from the power of their enemies while the judge was still alive. The LORD was moved to pity whenever they groaned because of those who were oppressing and afflicting them.

God saw their actions— that they had turned from their evil ways— so God relented from the disaster he had threatened them with. And he did not do it.

Did King Hezekiah of Judah and all the people of Judah put him to death? Did not the king fear the LORD and plead for the LORD’s favor, and did not the LORD relent concerning the disaster he had pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!”

The LORD relented concerning this.“ It will not happen,” he said.
