Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent a message to Jeroboam king of Israel:“ Amos is raising a conspiracy against you in the very heart of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words.

Amaziah was priest of Bethel. He sent a message to Jeroboam, the king of Israel. He said,“ Amos is making evil plans against you right here in Israel. The people in the land can’t stand to listen to what he’s saying.

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,“ Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.

Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent a message to Jeroboam, king of Israel:“ Amos is hatching a plot against you right here on your very doorstep! What he is saying is intolerable.

Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to King Jeroboam of Israel, saying,“ Amos has conspired against you right here in the house of Israel. The land cannot endure all his words,

Then Amaziah the priest of Beth- el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

耶利米以耶和華所命、告眾既竟、祭司先知庶民執之曰、爾必死、爾奚託耶和華名預言曰、此室必如示羅、此邑荒蕪、無人居處哉、眾乃集於耶利米前、在耶和華室、○猶大牧伯聞此、則自王宮上耶和華室、坐於新門之場、祭司先知謂牧伯庶民曰、斯人當死、彼對此邑之預言、爾曹親耳聞之、

王於崇邱建廟、由眾民中、不屬利未族者、簡立祭司、又設節期於八月之望、若猶大之節期、而登其壇、在伯特利亦如是、獻祭於所作之犢、以所立為邱壇之祭司、置於伯特利、

猶大王約阿施子亞瑪謝十五年、以色列王約阿施子耶羅波安即位、在撒瑪利亞為王、歷四十一年、行耶和華所惡、不離棄尼八子耶羅波安陷以色列人之罪、

耶羅波安雖遇此事、仍不悛其惡行、復由眾民中、簡立崇邱之祭司、凡欲之者、則區別之、使為崇邱祭司、

耶和華立爾為祭司、以代祭司耶何耶大、俾在耶和華室為督、凡狂妄之徒、自稱為先知者、爾當執之、拘以項械、加以桎梏、今有自稱為先知者、亞拿突人耶利米、爾奚不責之、

眾聞之、忿極、向之切齒、

既至便雅憫門、有閽長名伊利雅、乃哈拿尼亞孫、示利米雅子也、執先知耶利米、曰、汝降迦勒底人也、耶利米曰、妄哉、我不降迦勒底人、伊利雅弗聽、執耶利米、解至牧伯、諸牧伯怒耶利米、撻之、囚於繕寫約拿單室、蓋以此室為獄也、

訟之曰、我見此人、誘惑我邦、禁納稅於該撒、自稱為基督為王也、

祭司音麥子巴施戶珥、為耶和華室宰、聞耶利米預言斯事、則撻先知耶利米、加以桎梏、在耶和華室便雅憫上門、翌日、巴施戶珥釋之、出於桎梏、耶利米謂之曰、耶和華不稱爾為巴施戶珥、乃稱爾為瑪歌珥米撒畢、

耶穌入殿訓誨、祭司諸長民間長老、就之曰、爾以何權行是、且誰賜爾此權耶、

蓋我儕見此人如癘疫、於天下猶太人中滋亂、為拿撒勒黨之首、

彼曰、其來、爾我同謀以攻耶利米、因法律不絕於祭司、謀畧不絕於哲人、預言不絕於先知、來哉、我儕以舌攻之、勿聽其言、○

我儕曾嚴戒爾曹、勿以斯名訓誨、爾乃以爾教徧布耶路撒冷、欲以斯人之血歸我儕也、

見之則曰、困苦以色列者、乃爾乎、

今爾有意敵大衛子孫所治耶和華之國、爾之人數甚多、且有耶羅波安為爾所製金犢、以為神者偕爾、爾曹非逐耶和華之祭司、亞倫後裔、及利未人、為己立祭司、循異邦之例乎、凡人攜牡犢一、牡羊七而來、自為區別、則可為祭司、以奉虛無之神、

諸兄曰、爾果將君我乎、抑轄我乎、故因其夢與言、而益憾之、
